@katyilonka what software do you use? Sometimes when getting started writing, I'll open up a GDoc, turn on voice dictation, and pretend I'm talking to a friend. It's fine for small-stakes stuff, but i'm interested in something better designed

while having a broken wrist i got really into using dictation for writing. i love it! now if i ever don't know where to start i just turn on dictation and ramble. it ~feels~ different (like, in my soul) than typing. in a nice way. also less typing is prob good my hands?*

@srush_nlp @zacharylipton certainly a similar flavor around the OpenAI/GPT-3 discourse re: "the scaling hypothesis" and "the bitter lesson". Manhattan Project budget would be ~30billion today, so perhaps we're still only at the Fermi/Szilard Pile-1 stage (~$50mm today)

@zacharylipton My memory of "Making of the Atomic Bomb" was that there was actually tons of work done on scaling. Oak Ridge and other sites were all about tuning marginal output gains at large scales. Obviously current scientific process has issues, but it's not so clear a difference.

Like #Cincinnati, the #CambMA City Council will be discussing the idea of allocating parts of the public way for restaurants to reopen and have add'l outside space to expand the # of guests they can serve. Thanks @PattyNolan1 for your leadership, happy to join you in this effort!

@SpauldingSam @MassDCR @CambMA The City Council has said in 2 policy orders that Memorial Drive & other streets should be partly closed to promote social distancing. The DCR has closed streets elsewhere and could here too. Unfortunately the City Manager has not followed through twitter.com/adamtvaccaro/s…
