@CollinJHumphrey I’m so sick of these texts! Get them daily.

I’ve never built a pergola before or done any sort of timber framing.
But I just paid $1,000 for (4) 6x6x12 cedar posts and I’m diving in head first.
With a Masters from Youtube University, anything is possible.
So today I set the post brackets on the footings. Spent most of the day doing layout and triple checking everything.
Really hoping everything aligns 10’ up once I set the posts.
Any words of wisdom before sawdust starts flying?

Happened to me last year for about $7000. We agreed to two weeks of labor and he didn’t think we got enough done even though we signed contracts. Long story short I placed a lien went to Mediation mediator agreed I would be right in court, and he should pay me he did not pay me and now I’m going to file in the court. People are lame.

So much about life can be learned from watching and playing sports.
You’ll notice everybody cheers for the same things:
Effort.
Hustle.
Heart.
The person who refuses to quit.
And everybody gets annoyed by the same things too.
Bad attitudes.
Excuses.
Whining.
Lack of focus.
half effort.
GIVING UP
Funny thing is, it's exactly the same in every aspect of life.
It's character.
So whether life is easy or tough, give it everything you've got AND NEVER EVER QUIT.

It’s time to not be anonymous anymore. I figured i would introduce myself.
I’m Kyle McDaniel.
I’ve got 11+ years in pest control and door-to-door sales
Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Served a mission in Argentina
Studied Finance at BYU-Idaho (I know you are sorry for me that I didn’t go to BYU)
In 2021, my cousin Casey (Pest Control guy) and I started King Pest Solutions with $4,000 each. This summer, we’re on track to surpass $3 million in recurring revenue while growing across Colorado.
Along the way, I’ve become a husband, dad, business owner, tiny real estate investor, and someone who loves killing bugs and making a few bucks.
Love sharing wins, losses, lessons, numbers, and everything in between.
I also like a little caffeinated beverage in moderation.

@avivafashion11 I have the same issue with multiple ex employees and local businesses. They can’t help but wonder what you’re doing. I think it’s hilarious. That means you’re in their head.
English

Am I the only one who finds this weird??
I have casual acquaintances who watch my business Instagram stories religiously, and yet…
Not one single like.
Not one single comment.
Not one single DM.
Not one single question about my business.
At what point does “following” become “surveillance”? 👀
So I’m curious, do you remove social media lurkers that know you in “real life”, or let them stay?

@CollinJHumphrey @CommonSense502 Mixed bag some people love it and some people just really give you hell. We also live in a super small town where people just suck. It’s been pretty frustrating but like you said good or bad at least they’re talking about us.
English

@SquaredUpBuilds @CommonSense502 How has it been for you, brotha? You’ve had a wrapped Cybertruck now for a while wrapped.
English

The Cybertruck is interesting.
I went through Chick-fil-A this morning, and the girl taking my order said, “Oh my gosh, I feel so famous right now taking your order.”
It’s still kind of wild to me of how much attention good and bad this thing gets.
Just a fun to drive spaceship truck to me.
But now I’m confused…
Does that say tan suv Frari??

English

@CollinJHumphrey @CommonSense502 This is more true than you can imagine! Especially in a small town like we live in.
English

@CommonSense502 I know how ya feel. But sometimes a person has to lean into it. Especially as this is an attention grabber as it is naturally. I think they say good and bad attention is still good marketing.
English

@resellerrowe Woah. Surprising but anymore not so much.... Sorry to hear that.

Daughters wedding venue was sold to new owner recently. He’s not a hospitality professional but says he understands a p&l. Made major cutbacks to the venue and told us during a meeting that he only bought it to resell.
Is it bad that I mentioned not to get me to upset because I’m still on parole?
English

@SquaredUpBuilds Damn man way to go. What a blessing. Thank God for that.
English

Man, what a difference it is working for a positive, grateful clients.
One grateful client is worth more than five negative ones.
Funny thing is, the grateful client usually gets way more than they paid for because everyone naturally wants to go the extra mile for them.
The ultra picky, constantly critical client (you know) can be paying twice as much, yet nobody enjoys the job and everybody is just counting down the days until it’s done.
People think price is everything.
It’s not.
Attitude is everything.
