@contractorkeith Zapier is very basic compared to what can be done with make. You’re only limited to the apps API.

are you still doing takeoffs in excel? are you actually using ai in your estimating? or are you behind door #3… (a hybrid)? no one in construction ever wants to admit what they’re really using i’m testing local models on real bids and the results are… interesting.

@CommonSense502 sounds like you have it running smoothly, certainly not saying you need to ask ai a single thing. curious, how did you implement those automations? did you write scripts?

I need help here. This is a 2006 DR Horton home. It has new appliances, outdoor grill/smoker, and laminate flooring. There is zero special about this location, home, or sub and while all other homes are selling under ask in there, this one was bid up 15%! (also 15% above it's 2021 SP) Why?

Most of the time with I post about the VW ID BUZZ I get 20 comments about how it needs more range. I get it, we always want more. I’m an advocate for big batteries! But where’s something to consider. The old VW bus had a range of around 180 miles and was used for so many things including hippies traveling and living in. The new BUZZ has a 230 mile range. When I mentioned how the 2027 will have a camper version, many commented how it NEEDS more range. Something to consider 🤔

@UofLSheriff50 There is no way a pro team works here, it’s completely ludicrous to think so. Louisville games are rarely crowded and the crowd energy is low. It’s also a poor city compared to other large city’s so they aren’t selling 200.00 tickets.

I know Louisville isn’t one of the cities mentioned here. But!!! I think MLB or NBA would work here. Similar to what happened in OKC, Louisville would really rally around a franchise. I don’t know if we will ever get a chance to prove it. But I do think it would work.
Nashville Stars ⚾️@NashvilleStars

In a recent @Forbes breakdown, Nashville remains part of the national conversation about Major League Baseball expansion. For Nashville, the case is clear: a growing metro, a younger fan base, a brand rooted in Negro Leagues history, and a vision built for Music City. The work continues. MLB to Music City.

I’m huge computer geek for over 20 years. Have basic understanding of coding etc. I have automated 90% of the office workflow. Purchase orders are auto generated. Every app is talking together. When I mark a project awarded in my crm all the costing data is imported into accounting and several PO’s are generated and invoices created. I really do not see one thing AI could do to improve my workflow short of asking it to create a new report or answer questions like “how much profit did we make off roof jobs last month”. Which it already does. What am I missing that it could do for me?

@CommonSense502 curious if you fail to see it because you haven’t found a way to use it in your workflows, or is there something else I am missing? (Genuine question)

I had the entire Indianapolis area code blocked for a while. I had gotten a few larger jobs from angi without paying a penny. I remember sitting in a demo with them and being shown how I could by my way to the top. They pull up the list in my area and im number 4 of about 25. They wanted me to pay like 12,000 to break into the top 3. I was like are you nuts? 1000/month to go from 4 to 3. 4 was actually better because I was still on the first page but the first who wasn’t preferred.

This is what the inside of a Ford F150 Platinum sounds like Just listen to this interior… after a few years of owning the car it sounds like the entire thing is rattling apart Could they possible make this any cheaper?? There’s a reason the CEO of Ford drives a Xiaomi The craziest thing is, I found this is extremely common now on newer Ford trucks Interior rattles and quality declines are common complaints with modern Ford F-150s, including Platinum trims Rattles are frequently reported across model years 2017–2025+, the rattles come from doors, dashboard, A-pillars, sunroof, moonroof areas, overhead consoles, B-pillars, and trim pieces We have to stop letting companies get away with robbing us and making products so cheaply. This is not okay

Lead flow does fix everything. I know a guy that does custom concrete countertops and he will stress a single lead for weeks wondering if they are going to do it and then spend a week doing the job for 2500.00. He has no system at sales or even the product. If he sells a job he has to go get plywood to make the form, doesn't even stock 15 pcs in his shop. Each job is like the first one he's ever done.

Stop pricing for the NO’s and start pricing for the YESSES. Guys try to raise prices so they’re not making Uber Eats driver money and get one person saying “you’re ridiculously expensive” and then turtleshell back to being below the poverty line again. Many such cases.

I bring home about 250k as a business owner and could live off 50k at this point. I don’t really care for material possessions though other than my house. I have friends with boats and vacation houses. Personally I like having no stress or worries and picking my 9 year old up at 3pm everyday from school.

I’m big on knowing your numbers and charging accordingly. When back log increases so does are pricing and vise versa. The thing that most don’t understand and really can’t be quantified is if you’re cheap you get cheap people calling because that becomes your identity. I’m confident when people refer us they aren’t saying we’re cheap, they’re saying we did a good job and were worth every penny they spent.

Guy running a $500k/yr home service biz at 10% net margins is making $50k Raise prices 10% and now he's making $100k His customers see a 10% price increase. He sees his take home income double. Most of you could raise prices by 10% and not even have a noticeable dip in close rate (Yes I understand the math is not QUITE that simple as some expenses scale with higher rev but you get the point of my tweet)

@jonbrooks I pay 3600 or so a year for my well maintained 750k house. If it keeps my premium low and kicks the rest off I’m all for it.

I just got a message from my insurance company. To keep coverage, I have to upload 50+ photos of the key components of my house. Roof. Plumbing. Electrical. HVAC. Water heater. Appliances. Everything. So let me get this straight... If everything is done correctly, maintained perfectly, and lower risk... do I get LOWER homeowners insurance? Or is this just another way to find reasons to charge me more?

This woman doesn’t want the car dealership’s logo on her car that she just bought from them. She takes a heat gun and removes the logo. I thought it was just me that it drives crazy but apparently not. If people are going to be driving around advertising for a dealership, shouldn’t the dealership pay you? 💯 Many said they won’t leave the dealership unless they remove it. Also, don’t want the dealership license player frame either. Does the car dealership logo bother you? Have you ever given it much thought? Or, do you think people like that are being ridiculous?
