@Pentropy @StringifyIt was a fantastic tool for IoT / home automation. Best workflow customizability in the entire market, by an enormous margin. They had everyone else eating their dust But then @comcast came along and unceremoniously terminated the happy days (as usual).

@OptiCatTV @OptiCatTV as we announced back in April, we shut down for good on July 8th.

I’m sure what @StringifyIt meant here was “As previously announced, the Stringify app is now no longer functional. We thank you and hope you enjoyed using Stringify as much as we enjoyed creating and supporting it.” But that would have required…some effort and consideration?

@dwarfginkgo SmartThings+WebCoRE is what I replaced my flows with. It's more powerful than Stringify within the SmartThings ecosystem.

@StringifyIt @3168Deus Shutting down is a giant step backward in home automation. I looked into Yonomi as an alternative, but cannot replicate the functionality I have (make that had) in Stringify.

@SeanDerwin People have suggested lots of alternatives on our forum (which will go away when we delete everything tomorrow) as well as reddit's stringify & homeautomation subreddits.

With the sad demise of @StringifyIt now hours away, who is picking up the slack and what options remain? It was unique in combining certain services and products like @LightwaveRF, @Honeywell_Home & @Logitech Harmony. @yonomi & @IFTTT can’t do everything. #HomeAutomation

@StringifyIt @ChadAlanJackson Or they could have found a buyer willing to make it work fianacially! I would have paid for the service, but it seems comcast just purchased it to shut it down! Why buy it in the first place?

@3168Deus @3168Deus for what it’s worth, we tried for ma y months. Users paying would not have covered the hosting + salaries.

@StringifyIt you’re really messing up my hoed automation by discontinuing your app. I would have been willing to pay a one time fee or a monthly subscription for it.

@ChadAlanJackson Comcast acquired Stringify 20 months ago. This is not new, and we would have otherwise been out of business shortly thereafter.

Created a lambda function to interface between @ring —> @IFTTT —> @HiveHomeUK. This replaces the previous interface using @StringifyIt, which is being deprecated #smartHome #serverless

@Everiewan We've done the math on that, the economics don't work out.

@Everiewan Yes, I am aware that we are discontinuing the app. That doesn't mean the code isn't being used behind the scenes elsewhere in the company.

@jezcope Hard to give a recommendation without knowing what devices you have - it's still a very fragmented world. As far as serverless functions...AWS lambda+API gateway? Not sure what you are trying to accomplish exactly.

@DaveHamilton HomeBridge lets you get all your stuff into HomeKit!

Ugh. I rely heavily on @StringifyIt for my smart home stuff. Scripts like, “if it’s between midnight and 6am, and if there’s motion in the driveway, turn on the lights, then 10 minutes later turn them off again” are simply not possible with @IFTTT or anything else I’ve tried.
