Bring Shamima Begum home.
She's British. She needs to be tried as a Brit.
I don't care how unpopular this argument is - it's the right one 👇

If Shamima Begum had been a wealthy white 15 year old girl with a double barrelled name, who had made the same mistakes, she would not have been made stateless and she would have been back home years ago. I don't think anyone would deny that.
Happy birthday to me - I'm 70 today. Birthday cards designed by my wife Elaine. (And, yes, I do play the ukulele. Any other uke strummers amongst the chess community?) #chess#ukulele

The more I listen to “Murder Most Foul” the more it reminds me of “Lincoln in the Bardo” by George Saunders. It’s hard for me to be more precise. Maybe it's the quick flashes of thought and allusion, the dark mood and pervasive sadness, and the idea that you can’t ever go back.
@rhondaganz@CBCRadioCanada@cbcasithappens 😂😂 I only understand this joke because my partner’s uncle explained it in an email this morning. I can’t say my 7 year-old self listening in the back seat of the car picked up on the geography jokes in As It Happens.
I just did an interview with “As It Happens” on @CBCRadioCanada – which will mean nothing to most people in the UK but was an absolute staple in my house/parents’ car growing up in Canada. What a strange turn of events…
My last book purchase of 2017: this £2 little GEM of a tome. My new life’s challenge is now to visit each and every one of Britain’s funicular railways. 🤓
My partner started messaging me about difficulties in our plan to travel by train to Istanbul next month. Planning transport journeys is just my life now. 😂
@ETWriteHome I was looking for your feed and discovered a surprising number of people with initials ET have created user names playing on ‘ET phone home’
@ETWriteHome Good luck with this. Planning to do London to Preston Bus Station using my Freedom Pass when the weather improves. I’ve got @politic_animal route but seeing your route will be helpful.
Things no-one else is crazy enough to be doing right now: final prep for a trip to answer one of the great unanswered questions: just how far can you travel by bus from London in 24hrs? I *think* I know on paper, but in practice…? Follow along from 3am as I slowly go mad. #bus24
@politic_animal This looks great. Well done. Could I use my OAP Freedom pass on these buses? I was born in Preston and I would interested in going back to look at the bus station,
So, it’s just gone 3am, and the odyssey begins. I’m at Charing Cross, the point from which all distances from London are measured, and the aim is to get as far a possible from here in 24 hours. And here’s my first bus, London’s fourth longest route. Start the clock! #bus24
