Horrific update to breaking news I reported on Thursday. The young man shot in the parking garage in downtown Indianapolis near the convention center has died. The Marion County coroner confirms 23-year-old Brett Scrogham died from his injuries. Multiple sources have told me and I have confirmed through IU’s online records that Scrogham recently graduated from IU’s Kelley School of Business and was named one of the top in his class. Multiple sources also tell me that Brett was parking in the garage downtown near the convention center to attend the Indians game with his family when he was shot. We have reached out to IMPD to see if an arrest has been made in this case and we are still waiting to hear back. More to come.

I think we’ve all noticed why we can’t have nice and free open spaces in our cities. No one keeps the criminals out and homeless set up camps where they can shit where they want and take all the drugs they love. And nothing is done about it. It’s not a mystery. By their actions cities have shown this isn’t important them. You can from there speculate why. I won’t. It’s irrelevant. Malfeasance, incompetence, or weaponized empathy. Irrelevant.
