In early 2022, while much of the world was still calibrating its response, Ukraine was already liberating Kyiv region and other areas — with limited external support. Also a fact. Early, decisive actions did exist. Before February 24, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Canada delivered lethal assistance: Stingers, Javelins, anti-tank weapons, small arms, ammunition. These were not symbolic steps. They were timely. After February 24, the United States moved first at scale — announcing a $350 million package on February 26. Shortly thereafter, the European Union took an unprecedented step, allocating €450 million for lethal assistance and €50 million for non-lethal support through the European Peace Facility — effectively breaking a long-standing political taboo. Speed mattered then. It still does. Today, the international response to threats linked to Iran is faster, clearer, more synchronized. The capacity for rapid, decisive action has always existed. The difference lies in how quickly it is activated. Because delays cost territory. Delays cost lives. Timely decisions change outcomes.

Once again, a major international organization cannot call things by their proper names. You can be “deeply alarmed” when you wake up at night from a bad dream. But this is terrorism that Russia commits against Ukraine every day. Find the courage to finally condemn Russia’s actions.

Officials believe there may be at least 12 minors who were victims of his operation. This isn't a misunderstanding. This is a monster. According to court documents, Valdez allegedly lured a 15-year-old girl he'd groomed on Snapchat to his home to "sexually exploit her to celebrate his birthday." He had met her when she was just 13 or 14 years old. The FBI has identified at least 11 other potential victims. You know who stopped him that night? Not the Republican Party. Not a background check. Not any kind of vetting process. Her mother. A brave mom used a family tracking app to find her daughter at Valdez's home. She knocked — then walked in, punched Valdez in the face, and carried her barely-conscious child to safety. Valdez, apparently stunned that a mother's love hits harder than his sense of impunity, then FLED HIS OWN HOUSE when police arrived. Sen. Rauscher's office had nothing to say — firing Valdez only AFTER the charges became PUBLIC. The Anchorage Young Republicans had just elevated this man to state committee chair last month. MAGA loves to screech about "protecting the children" at school board meetings and drag shows. But when a predator is running their own offices and youth organizations? Crickets. Pink slips. No accountability.
