Delighted to see this discussion happen. We must honour the sacrifices Ukr is making in military & civilian lives incl the devastation Putin has caused. Ukr must be supported, admitted to the EU & rebuilt. Their sacrifice & knowledge will greatly enhance Europe's defence.

I met PM Turner on a few occasions and found he was a great man. I knew PM Mulroney as a youth leader and felt he was a great man. To have the government say one is a national historic person and the other is not only reflects badly in a petty partisan way on the Carney gov’t.

I am not Polish by blood. I carry no Polish surname, speak the language only haltingly, and my ancestors walked other roads and yet, with every passing year, I find myself more bound to Poland, not by heritage, but by conscience. I love Poland because she has known unspeakable suffering and yet has never surrendered her soul. I love her because her soil holds the bones of poets and partisans, mothers and martyrs, men and women who died not for power, but for dignity, for truth, for home. I defend Poland because so few do. Because history has not been kind, and memory has not been fair. Her sacrifices have been silenced, her courage twisted, her people blamed for crimes not their own while their own wounds are ignored. I honor the Polish people because they remind the world what resilience looks like. Because they rebuilt cities from rubble, whispered prayers in prisons, taught children beneath the boot of tyranny, and refused to let the flame of culture be extinguished, no matter how many tried. I give my time freely to this cause not for thanks or praise, but because some stories must be told, and some truths must be defended, especially when it is no longer popular to do so. Poland stood when others fell. She remained upright when the world turned its back. She bled for freedom not only for herself, but for Europe, for civilization, for the idea that the human spirit is unbreakable. You do not have to be Polish to feel that in your bones. You only have to be awake to history and willing to stand where honor calls.

@AndrewLawton @Jenni_Byrne He had more than enough time to be fully briefed, understand and be able to at least with a modest level of competence debate the core issues. Canadians are not served by this obvious lack of effort and attention to an important issue that is a way of life for many Canadians.

BREAKING The Liberal minister who is confiscating firearms and criminalizing farmers and sport shooters doesn't know what a firearms license is. Even worse, he refused to get educated. The guys taking your firearms know nothing about them.

@MercedesGlobal I am sorry you are facing this Mercedes. I applaud your courage for bringing it into the light and confronting this criminal. The relative briefness of his sentence is shocking. The rights of the criminal is put ahead of the rights of the victim and its' clear impact on your life

Tomorrow the man who has criminally harassed me for approx. 2.5 years will be released from a maximum security prison. He was sentenced to one year in jail on Feb 6th, but he will be released on June 10th due to statuary release and the fact he didn't get bail.
