It’s no coincidence that American incomes started to flatline when the wealth of corporations and the top .01% began to skyrocket. Excessive wealth means excessive power in the hands of a tiny few who use that corrupt power to enrich themselves at the cost of everyone else. We need a wealth tax. What is the purpose of individuals having a dizzying amount of wealth when so many people, when so many children, are going without basic necessities? We need a wealth tax–and we need it now.
