I am beginning to think that this American experiment has failed. Maybe we need to have a dictatorship for a period of time, then reboot with a newly written constitution?

@ponekeben There's always an English sign on the other side of the road. Typical race baiting. If you don't understand what the Taihoa sign is you shouldn't be driving.

@DaniGGerman Still think Nick should've stayed on as a producer so he could continue to live out his bizarro version of showbusiness where the irish guy stays in the shadows and makes all the money while the jew has to act like a performing monkey in front of the camera.

Yes. HE reinvented himself. It was his idea. He did it. Nobody else even deserves a mention.
Interview Magazine@InterviewMag

Former Cum Town host @AdamFriedland has reinvented himself as a Dick Cavett-style interviewer, equal parts curious and chaotic. When we asked him who he’d like to speak to for our Spring issue, his only direction was it had to be a talk show legend. So we introduced him to Maury Povich.

ACT New Zealand@actparty

𝗕𝗦𝗔 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗯: 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 ACT MP Laura McClure says today’s Broadcasting Standards Authority ruling shows a regulator scrambling to stay relevant by grabbing power it was never meant to have. McClure is the sponsor of the Broadcasting (Disestablishment of Broadcasting Standards Authority) Amendment Bill. “The BSA has taken a law written for rabbit-ear TV and tried to stretch it over podcasts and livestreams on the internet. That’s not credible, and Kiwis won’t buy it. This decision makes it clear the BSA isn’t just out of date, it’s out of control. “The Authority is now claiming the internet counts as ‘broadcasting’. By that logic, anything online could be dragged into its net. That should concern anyone who values free speech. “Kiwis already vote with their feet. If you don’t like something, you switch it off. We don’t need a panel in Wellington deciding what people are allowed to hear. “What we’re seeing is a bureaucratic empire trying to expand because it knows its original job has disappeared. “The BSA openly says its role is to limit speech. Extending that mindset to the internet is a huge step in the wrong direction. “We already have laws for real harm like defamation and incitement. We do not need a taxpayer-funded taste police for online content. “Taxpayers and media are footing the bill for a regulator that no longer serves a purpose. “Millions in public money, plus levies on media outlets, all to fund a body now trying to regulate the internet. It’s hard to think of a clearer example of waste. “This is exactly why I’ve lodged a bill to scrap the BSA, and today I'm writing to the Broadcasting Minister urging him to adopt it as Government legislation. "The answer to a regulator that’s outlived its usefulness isn’t to give it more power. It’s to shut it down."

im probably going to lose followers for sharing this but i truly don’t care. i had debilitating pain for years and doctors told me i just had “bad periods.” then i had an emergency appendectomy that revealed stage 4 endometriosis. i can’t imagine living my life without answers or actual treatment. surgery is currently the only way to definitively diagnose endo, but about 1 in 10 women have it. so many of us are dismissed by doctors, our pain is minimized, and we’re made to feel crazy for complaining about something we’re told is “normal.” no one should have to wait for an unrelated emergency surgery to prove their pain is real. endometriosis can also greatly impact fertility. reproductive health matters far beyond fertility, but if politicians are so obsessed with women having more children, maybe they should start by funding the conditions that are actively making that harder.
Robbie Harvey@therobbieharvey

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the famed 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, posted a heartbreaking life update. She revealed her battle with endometriosis, detailing multiple surgeries and the ongoing fight for better women's health awareness. She said in the post that doctors have removed more than 50 endometriosis lesions from her body since early 2023. She also had a chocolate cyst taken out that was sticking her ovary to her side, along with an appendectomy and hernia repair. But here's the part where I'm sure many of you will relate. She went years where doctors didn't believe her. Irwin explained she dealt with severe, constant pain for a full decade before getting a proper diagnosis. Doctors had brushed it off as something women just have to live with, leaving her feeling weak and insecure as a teen and young adult. She described being trapped in her own body during that time. This comes as March, designated Endometriosis Awareness Month, draws to a close. In her post, Irwin called on people to keep the invisible condition in mind year-round and show compassion to the millions affected. She stressed that raising awareness for endometriosis and women's health overall can stop others from suffering quietly.

The decision of the Broadcasting Standards Authority that it has jurisdiction over The Platform is breathtaking in its audacity. It has singlehandedly decided it knows better than the regulatory framework it operates under and that it should regulate the entire internet in New Zealand. The BSA even acknowledges in its decision that there is a regulatory gap between the Act and the modern world of communications - but has decided it can make the staggering leap to bridge that gap by ‘interpreting’ the law. This is not interpretation – this is obviously a case of targeting an outlet, in this case The Platform, not because it believes the regulatory framework applies to it, but because it disagrees with the content of what it is communicating. That is an egregious case of overreach and total fascist behaviour. The BSA has crossed a line. As far as New Zealand First is concerned, this decision commences a process that has to see the end of the BSA. It is no longer fit for purpose, and decisions like this are frankly dangerous to democratic discourse.

The conflict in the Middle East is directly leading to higher prices at the pump in New Zealand. That’s affecting households and businesses across the country, but the Government can’t afford to ease the pressure for everyone. We can’t repeat the mistakes of Covid where excessive spending led to higher inflation and more debt. We have to get the balance right. The most sensible and affordable thing for our government to do is provide timely, temporary, and targeted support to those who need it most. We’ve already announced that 143,000 low-and middle-income working families will receive an extra $50 a week to help with rising fuel costs. And from tomorrow, more than a million New Zealanders will also get an increase to the financial support they receive from the government. Nearly 1 million superannuitants get a boost – for a married couple on Super, that’s up over $50 more a fortnight. 280,000 families will get more through Family Tax Credits - up to $1,050 extra a year. Students and beneficiaries will get around $20 more a fortnight. We’ve also made changes to Working for Families, which will support 140,000 more households. That’s on top of the tax relief we’ve already delivered and FamilyBoost support for families with kids in early childcare. We’re also boosting KiwiSaver, helping you grow savings faster for your first home or retirement. We can’t control global fuel prices, but we are focused on helping Kiwis with targeted support that New Zealand can afford.

True soul Look inside Queenstown Lmao
Inside Rugby With Mark@insiderugbymark

This is what rugby in New Zealand really looks like. While the world watches the All Blacks under the bright lights of Eden Park, the true soul of New Zealand rugby lives in places like this, Queenstown Rugby Club, nestled among the peaks and valleys of one of the most beautiful corners of the earth. If you’ve never experienced club rugby in New Zealand, let me paint the picture for you. You arrive and you’re greeted with a warm “Kia Ora” from the local whānau. Within minutes you feel like you belong. Someone hands you a hot mince pie straight from the clubroom oven. A cold beer is placed in your hand. Before you know it, you’re chatting with the Under 7s coach, the senior club captain, and the old boy who’s been volunteering here for forty years. From the little ones chasing the ball on Saturday morning to the town’s first XV battling it out in the afternoon, everyone looks out for each other. You’ll see raffles being drawn, bingo nights being organised, and volunteers giving up their weekends so the club can keep the lights on and the jerseys clean. This is the ecosystem that produces some of the nicest, toughest, and most grounded human beings on the planet. In an era where rugby often feels dominated by big stadiums, money, TV deals and social media, places like Queenstown Rugby Club remind us what the game was built on, community, belonging, and connection. So if you ever find yourself in New Zealand, do yourself a favor. Don’t just watch the All Blacks on TV. Come and stand on the sideline at a local club. You’ll be welcomed like family. And you might just fall in love with rugby all over again. Kia Ora from the South Island ❤️ #RugbyIsCommunity #NewZealandRugby #GrassrootsRugby #QueenstownRugby

The nostalgia for a Luxon “Ardern moment” on Iran is telling. It reflects a media culture still chasing emotional theatre rather. Perhaps it is a welcome shift that constant camera exposure, performative empathy, and crisis branding are no longer the default. If a vacuum of drama appears, some in the media are more than capable of filling it themselves.
