@varzecs @_HMSP @jackbuckby That's not cheddar cheese, that's American. Which you can buy from a deli and is just cheese with a higher liquid content(water, milk or whey) so it melts better. We literally have any cheese you guys have, along with our own amazing creameries. You're dumb as hell

@Alessiasroom This is the main reason that anime was so much more successful in long form pre 2012, just less anime per season and more reason to continue an anime sooner. But I moved on to manga so long ago, then moved on to wuxia and xianxia and never looked back lol

This whole 20 minute episodes / 11 episodes per season thing with 3+ years inbetween seasons is genuinely brutal and I dont see how its helping anime By the time of ep 11 or 12 I feel like we're just beginning to unravel the plot and characters and then it just ends

@bthotin @Pirat_Nation ? Steam has a price parity policy, games can’t be cheaper elsewhere or the get delisted of Steam. Because no devs can afford to be not listed on Steam they have no choice to make their price the same as on Steam (even if other store takes less of a cut)

Consumer Competition Claims (CCC), through GameClaim, has launched a new class action against Valve in the Netherlands. The group claims Valve controls around 85% of the PC game market and uses rules that make it harder for developers to sell games cheaper on other stores. It also argues that Steam’s 30% cut on game sales is too high and shows anti-competitive behaviour. According to CCC, Dutch gamers have paid more than they should due to these practices, with total damages estimated at over €220 million since 2013.. The group says it will first try to reach a settlement with Valve. If that fails, the case could go to court and may take several years to resolve.

@vivigrot @Pirat_Nation No they aren't discouraging price competition. If you sell on their platform you shouldn't undercut them, if you want to do that sell it on your own or somewhere else. Valve isn't stopping this. Steam is simply the best storefront period.

@bthotin @Pirat_Nation Valve is literally a company btw. There are many scenarios that could happen if they lose the lawsuit. But fact is: they are taking more cuts from the dev & using their market position to discourage price competition between storefronts. So yes, I hope they lose big time.

@vivigrot @Pirat_Nation The fact that you're arguing some imaginary scenario where cost savings are passed on to the consumer is crazy. If steam ever loses this we all lose, every gamer loses. Nobody will sell their games for less, you actually think these companies will lose potential profits???

@Pirat_Nation ? This is actually good for gamers. It would mean that you would get cheaper Steam games if they win. They would match the lower revenue cut of other store fronts. How is that bad?

Effectively your game sold on Steam for $100 (of which you take $70), can only be sold on your website for $100 - you can't sell it for $70 to make the same money, but have customers pay less.

@BenBCNus @NYCMayor Commissaries already work. They are cheaper than shopping at Big box stores in almost every scenario by up to 20 percent. They are government run, barely use any money and are able to generate the correct amount of profit to stay operational. This already exists and works.

These government grocery stores are not just a publicity stunt; they are much, much worse. Will they provide competitive products and services compared to privately owned stores? Obviously not - companies that have been doing this for decades will be more efficient and better in every way. Will they provide access to food to people w/ limited means? Obviously not - these people already get access to all the food they need (e.g. SNAP/food stamps, etc). Will they provide food to people who are not geographically close to existing stores? Obviously not - the location of these stores is in close proximity with many competing private stores. These stores, if they even keep up with them/stock them (which they might or might not), are only designed to give you the illusion that the government can solve your problems. They will lose millions of your hard earned tax dollars, for years to come. They will achieve no actual good purpose (they can't). So, ask yourself, why are they doing this? If you have a good answer for this simple question, please provide it - otherwise supporting these, is supporting your own demise. @VickieforNYC
