@BlackMajikMan90 I think it’s funny when the budget was $110M and was split between Nintendo & Universal 😭 they are way past the break even point (even when factoring in marketing & cuts for the theater).
Yes, making $375M more would have been great, but it is still a enormous success

There’s still a chance that Mario Galaxy might not cross 1 billion and that is over $350 million in diminishing returns.
Both films opened to around 375 million in the opening weekend yet each film went opposite directions after that.
Illumination needs to make changes.

@PhanTum926 The reason I say it will take a long time is that, since Firmware 4.1.0 on Switch 1, no software vulnerabilities have ever been found. Nintendo is well aware of this, which is why they've secured the hardware far more than necessary.

@vivigrot @GlobalBoxOffice The important thing is those projections are, at least by me, based purely on tracking the exact daily and weekly figures for both movies (and others as well) and comparing the trends. Unless something drastic happens, they’re following similar paths. The data speaks for itself.

Once it hits $900M, it will be $60M to beat Minecraft and take the 2nd spot for video game movies. There's a lot left to beat the 1st Mario movie, so i don't think it will take the 1st spot before landing on digital platforms, i hope i'm wrong.
