It's crazy to think that I've worked on systems that are currently sitting on the lunar surface! Mass Spectrometer Observing Lunar Operations (MSolo) is/was designed to measure and monitor lunar volatiles during missions involving drilling operations at the lunar poles. The pictures shown here are from the second mission on the @Int_Machines IM-2 lander that unfortunately landed on its side 🙃 so we weren't able to properly execute the mission but were able to link up to confirm that it survived the trip and what's functioning as designed-March 6,2025. Hopefully the next two missions will be green lit so we can go drill for some ice on the moon!

@michaelschwab13 He clearly can't throw his fastball for strikes and he knows it because he pretty much only throws his slider. Which isn't all that great either right now.

@michaelschwab13 His numbers are a mixed bag. Hitters aren’t getting under his four-seamer like they used to (AIR% is at 50% vs. over 70% for most of his career) & has an xBA of .418, though his movement profile is at 2022 levels. Throw more sinkers, sweepers, & changeups, and fewer four-seamers.

This is what you want to see. Javier has boosted his fastball velocity to 2022 levels.

@Chandler_Rome If you believe in Loperfido's progression as a batter and I think The Astros do, I don't understand why They don't give him some runway Against lefties. I know it's a small Sample size but he hit for better average AND better on base percentage against lefties last year.

@JeremyBranham SMH. Why do they keep batting Yordan 2nd? I don't care if he gets more at bats, he'll have better at bats w/Paredes batting 2nd. Paredes usually sees 7 to 9 pitches per at bat. That's what you want in front of Yordan. Pena Paredes Yordan Walker Correa Altuve Smith Diaz Matthews

The thing that should be common sense is that even when Reed isn’t shooting well, he’s completely impacting the way teams defend the Rockets b/c of his ability to shoot, drive, and pass. Yet he only plays if he’s shooting well [or if there’s no other choice due to injuries.]

@brianmctaggart I think trading Paredes would be a bad idea. If you really want to compete, you keep him unless you trade him for someone who can produce at an equal or greater clip. I think you try Altuve in left again and let Paredes play second. Joey and Cam can platoon in right field.

What @sundayrobotics is doing in terms of designing for functionality through a first-principles approach versus trying to mimic human biomechanics is refreshing, and their approach to training is brilliant and a paradigm shift! I can't wait to have one of these in my home!

This is an impressive demonstration of how intelligently designed hardware and a clever approach to training can produce remarkable results without needing the robot to be anthropomorphic or any sort of tele operation.

@hyperquad117 @1x_tech You just helped a ton of companies with product-market-fit guide, likely tens of millions of people resonate with your examples. Early adopters have a clear need, hopefully it’s transformational for you! All the other fun and useful stuff will come over time, beta tests etc

There's a lot of skepticism/criticism around @1x_tech's decision to release NEO in early access without full autonomy-fair enough, it's not perfect yet. But as someone who's been paralyzed from the chest down since age 20 and pre-ordered NEO without hesitation, I wanted to share why this move deserves real applause, not criticism. I'm a mechanical/aerospace engineer at NASA working on the space program tackling complex problems and even drive my vehicle using adaptive controls. But basic everyday stuff? Dropping something on the floor leaves me fishing with hook on a stick for 5 minutes or SOL. Reaching into the pantry or fridge? Maybe with a stick but probably not happening. Needing help at 3 AM from bed? It's either wait it out till my morning aide arrives or call 911 if it's "bad enough." These are just the tips of the "dependence iceberg" that is my reality, and it chips away at any sense of independence. Privacy is a big deal to me, no question. But right now, "independence" costs me about $28,000 a year out of pocket for caregivers (Insurance doesn't pay a nickel bc I am not "homebound"): 2.5 hours every morning to get out of bed, shower, and ready for work; an hour at night to get in bed safely. It's become increasingly hard to find reliable caregivers, especially in the last 3 or 4 years. This level of reliance on others wears on you. Obviously, I don't expect NEO to perform these roles in the near future but maybe some in 2 or 3 years? NEO won't solve everything tomorrow, and I get that. But even in teleop mode, it'll change things for me from day one. Waiting 2-3 more years for "perfect" aka fully autonomous is an eternity for someone like me. The $20K price tag is a stretch for many, I get it. My government engineer salary is good but not Silicon Valley money, so this isn't easy for me either. But I'm choosing NEO over upgrading my 8-year-old minivan. Why? Because installing advanced controls on that van years ago so I could drive again was a game-changer--it was a huge boost to my independence and reshaped my life in ways I can't overstate. NEO? That's potentially 1 or 2 orders of magnitude further improvement in my independence. For folks like me, it's not a luxury—it's the difference between managing and thriving. And let's be real: if NEO delivers on its promise, economies of scale will kick in over time, driving costs down and opening this up to way more people. Early releases like this are how we get there. Kudos to the 1X team for moving this quickly and trusting early adopters to help shape it. They've built a hardware architecture that I think is a best-in-class approach to robots in the home and releasing it now-ish (imperfect as it may be) means real impact sooner rather than later. I'm genuinely grateful; this is a step toward the kind of independence I've missed for decades. @BerntBornich @ericjang11 @1x_tech
