Important Bantr algorithm updates: We’re rolling out new algorithm updates across Bantr. The goal remains the same - reward creators who add genuine value, not those who game the system. 1. Multi-tagging penalty Tagging multiple projects in one post is penalised. Because splitting attention across projects creates noise instead of meaningful narratives. If you want to grow, pick your lane. Build with one project and go deep. 2. Loyalty bonus Talking about one project over time now boosts your reputation. This rewards creators who choose their community and stay aligned with it, instead of hopping from one incentive to another. 3. Reputation scoring If you only post about incentivised campaigns, your reputation score will take a hit. We want to reward those building personal brands, sharing insights, and contributing to projects they actually use. Don't be an "infofi farmer." 4. Algo will favour quality, originality, and smart engagement over raw volume. One thoughtful post that sparks real discussion is worth more than a hundred repetitive updates. 5. The algorithm constantly looks at recent activity. If you shift toward better content and meaningful engagement, you can redeem your reputation over time. DON’Ts: - Stop multi-tagging irrelevant projects. It confuses the audience and dilutes your credibility. Every tag should have context. If you tag 4 unrelated projects, the algorithm splits your score. - Don’t amplify farmers. RTing low-effort or engagement-farmed posts hurts your trust score. Be mindful of whose voices you boost. - Don't bot your engagement. Artificial views or comment farms inflate ratios the algorithm can detect. Only replies and quotes from reputed users matter. Views don't matter in Bantr's algo - Don’t be a mercenary: If your bio has 10 tagged projects, it’s a signal that you’re not aligned with any community. Clean it up & stand for something. - Stop chasing quantity. Volume alone doesn’t move you up anymore. 10 thoughtful posts beat 100 surface-level ones. DO’s: - Create insightful content, not announcements. Go beyond reposting campaigns. Explain why something matters, what you liked, what could improve. - Show personality: Don’t sound like a press release. Add your humor, opinions, analogies. - Engage consciously. Reply to creators who share your audience, quote others with insight, and build conversations. That’s how smart engagement looks. - Reflect real experience: Use the platforms you talk about. Screenshots, insights, or results from personal usage always outperform surface-level hype. These updates are rolling out in phases across select leaderboards first and will roll out gradually across all of them.
