The Espresso Network is now running on proof-of-stake.
The permissioned validator set is gone. As of block 11,040,000, a permissionless set of nodes now runs the network. Every block from here onward is secured by open, decentralized consensus.

Epoch 2 has begun.
The first participant set sourced from the stake table has been locked in.
In another 40,000 blocks, at block 11,040,000, Espresso completes its transition to a fully operational proof-of-stake consensus network.

The Espresso Network's proof-of-stake upgrade was triggered today on mainnet at block 10,960,201. Epoch 1 has begun.
In another 79,799 blocks (~2 days at current 2-second block times), Espresso becomes a fully operational PoS consensus network.
