@Anhydrous1002 @Catman7055 @TaraBull That I don’t know about, but he does seem to be the grandson of the founder of IBM

@Anhydrous1002 @Catman7055 @TaraBull That is the suspects name
smithersfoundation.org/about/
Peep the family names both first and middle

@Goatboy__ @ptrschmdtnlsn Could get messy in failure… not to mention you have to add a uv light
English

@ptrschmdtnlsn What about an auxiliary head that injects a liquid resin into the layers as it makes them?

@elonmusk @nikitabier can we get in-app 3d model viewing here? Would love to post/share .step/.gltf/.stl on here

I’ve got an infinity blend going, year 5
the last ounce from almost every bourbon bottle goes into it
(probably skip most of the sweeter finished stuff)
at this point it’s 100+ bottles deep
and it’s unreal
nothing I own even comes close
I’ll pull a few ounces here and there as markers
but honestly…
gen 3 might beat gen2

I would have agreed with you a few years ago. It seems they overcorrected the demand for bourbon and now we are in surplus. I walked in the liquor store for the first time in probably a year today and I saw bourbons just sitting on the shelf that people were freaking out over a few years ago. Now, as we both know Pappy isn’t just a bourbon, it’s THE bourbon so it is an exception 😌.

@wong1160271 @hsu_steve Oh good catch I didn’t expect it to have one as people have been asking on their posts. I figured it would be sub $10k but for that price I’d rather put the money into a nicer quality 3 axis I think
English

@leafjerky @hsu_steve There is price tag right on top of the machine. It's partially blocked, but you can see 58000 pretty clearly. 58000 RMB is 8400 USD.

@fishPointer I run a Rigid through a Home Depot bucket with a dustopper on it for dust collection
English

@_Schlink_5 @zoodotdev This is probably marketed to non-stem 3d printing redditor types
English

@zoodotdev No industrial application because the people put in positions to use CAD aren't stupid enough to need this

Just learned about the beautiful personal library of a German mining engineer called Bruno Schröder.
His entire house was covered in custom shelves he built himself, housing his life’s work – a 70,000 book collection.
Bruno died in 2022 at 88, while in the midst of digitally cataloguing his massive collection. Sadly, he had no relatives and the house, including the books, was handed to an estate manager and put up for sale. That’s when his story and these photos surfaced.

@hsu_steve How do you even write g-code for a 5-axis CNC? What am I missing out on?
