Tumors literally liquefied by sound waves — no scalpel, no chemo, no radiation. This is histotripsy: focused ultrasound waves that rapidly expand and collapse gases inside cancer cells, destroying them mechanically in minutes while leaving healthy tissue untouched. In the demo at one of the leading hospitals doing this procedure, doctors showed before-and-after liver tumor images — a large lesion basically gone four months later, with the liver healing naturally. It’s FDA-approved for liver tumors in the US (since 2023, now available in 18 states) and has early/limited access in the UK, UAE, and Hong Kong, with trials underway for kidney, pancreatic, prostate, and more organs. The procedure takes 1–3 hours; most patients go home the same day. Side effects are usually mild flu-like symptoms the next day as the body clears the debris. This isn’t sci-fi — it’s happening now and expanding globally as more units are built. What do you think — could non-invasive sound-wave tumor destruction become a game-changer, or is it still too early to get excited? Your thoughts 👇

@peterrhague It's a publicity exercise at this point, and risking four lives in some unproven technology is insane.

For years people have asked “When will humans return to the Moon” with people guessing some year in the future. I’m not fully used to the answer being “Next Wednesday”

A client asked me to find them somewhere to disappear for a while. No meetings, no Slack, no city noise. So I found them this stone farmhouse built in 1890 in Corniglia, Cinque Terre. 76m² (818 sq ft), 2 bedrooms, a private terrace, a cellar and 0.41 acres (1,671m²) of terraced land with views down to the Ligurian Sea. Connected to the Sentiero Azzurro, the Blue Trail that runs the entire length of the Cinque Terre coast. Needs some updating but the location is unrepeatable. Asking price: €285k ($328k) + roughly 10-12% on top for purchase taxes and fees (standard for Italy). Imagine waking up to this every morning.

I voted remain at the time, and agree with some of the travel benefits - but this should not be forced through. The public voted to leave. Which in hindsight was the right choice. The only reason I'd want to rejoin is that the EU is finally having some sensible votes on migration and privacy which we won't see until a change of government in 2029 ... but overall I'd still rather be out of that bureaucratic nightmare.

@CryptoStorm3 @CuriosityonX agree with this line of thinking...but it begs the question of what sits above that...what is it all contained within?

The previous Universe collapsed onto itself, in which all black holes combined to form a "Black Universe" leading to the Big Bang, and the expansion phase started again At some point, the current Universe would have reached a limit of expansion, and will start collapsing again, eventually reaching another singularity a.k.a. Big Bang event, and the process continues like a half-Sine Curve This is a fascinating cosmological model — sometimes called the Cyclic Universe or Big Bounce theory

@SteveBakerFRSA this is the same everywhere. too many people taking money from the "social care" system for whatever reason.... maybe a better alternative to work, maybe genuine idk.... but it's bankrupting local councils.

Worth noting that despite the level of hatred he receives from many media and commentators, Starmer's handling of Iran over the last month has been very good.

Farmer Luke 🥔
Farmer Luke 🥔@Ondaintreefarm·
I’ve had had a few comments recently about my Posted Potatoes from people saying they can buy bags of potatoes cheaper from farms local to them. If you can, go and buy that bag, support your local farmer! I’m just trying to offer potatoes for people who don’t live near a farm that sells them, but still want to support British Agriculture by buying direct from a farmer like me. It’s expensive to post a 15kg parcel, and unfortunately I’m not Amazon Prime, but I’ve tried to keep the cost affordable for the consumer, but fair to the farmer and to reflect the cost of producing high quality spuds. Farmer Luke’s potatoes is the first time in my farming career that I have been able to set the price for my own product and I truly appreciate every single potato that you guys have brought from me 🥔🚜 If you don’t have a local farm you can buy from, you can order direct from me here: farmerluke.co.uk 🥔📮 #FarmerLuke #DownOnDaintreeFarm #Mrsfarmerluke #spudwife

On Friday we revealed the Companies House vulnerability letting anyone access the private dashboard of any UK company. This is the moment I first saw it demonstrated. My reaction says it all. What do we know? What don't we know? What should companies do now?

I see some weird things but this takes the biscuit. A vulnerability in the Companies House website, that let anyone view the private dashboard of any one of the five million registered companies, see directors' personal details. And modify them.

Rising faster than in most other advanced economies one again today, the yield on UK 10-year government bonds has surpassed 4.80%. This translates not only into higher mortgage rates but also into lower supply, as lenders withdraw some products from the market while awaiting greater clarity. #economy #uk #mortgages #markets #middleeastwar
