In my opinion, Tammy’s account is different than the first Jane Doe because Tammy is using her name and reported her story to the police. Additionally, if accurate, there were people who were aware of the inappropriate relationship with Mike while it was happening. ie. her own father drove to KC to tell Mike to stay away from her. It will be up to investigators to determine the facts. I am confident the truth will be established.

@joshjrainwater Absolutely absurd to not want people to call out these other leaders just because it’s hard to swallow after having to process everything ab Mike. Mike couldn’t have had this abusive playground operating for so long if it wasn’t for Allen & the other leaders!

Allen Hood was evil at #ihopkc. He was a cult leader. He harmed innumerable young adults. He architected and enforced a system of control and spiritual abuse. He never once publicly repented for this. He continued in ministry. His son supporting him in it. Shame! #mikebickle

@joshjrainwater IHOPKC is a cult. That makes Allen a cult leader too. The harm he caused is real & valid even if it’s ~not what Mike did~ He strengthened and maintained a cult that caused severe harm to people psychologically, financially, physically.

#IHOPCK is not a #cult. The word "cult" itself is illusive and prone to subjective definitions. I would even grant that the unhealthy aspects of IHOP culture tended toward cult-like behavior and that those aspects need to be addressed and reformed moving forward. However, if we define "cult" in the sense of a heretical Christian group which shields itself from the outside world and has blind devotion to its charismatic leader. IHOP was and is not that. -IHOP’s doctrine was evangelical and orthodox. Even the more eccentric aspects of their End-Time theology, which Mike expounded more than most, falls within historic premillennialism. Not only was the teaching from many of the leaders of IHOP orthodox, most of it was godly, full of the Spirit, challenging, and edifying. -IHOP produced a lot of God-fearing men and women who were not controlled or sycophants. I’m not saying sycofantism wasn’t a problem, however, most of those raised up by and in fellowship with IHOP were independent and strong leaders who ably voiced dissent. Many are around the world serving as pastors, missionaries, teachers, intercessors, ministers to the poor, and business leaders. They are godly people who love the local and global church. It is Mike’s own spiritual sons and daughters holding IHOP accountable right now and leading the advocate group. -Claims or belief in “revelations,” such as visitations to heaven, angelic encounters, or dreams and visions, does not make a group a cult. It means the group is “continuationist.” Such claims are found throughout scripture and church history. So you will have to show continuitionism is unbiblical to make this grounds for the “cult” accusation. Lies about prophecy, immaturity, manipulation, and sexual immorality do not make a group a cult. By such reasoning the church of Corinth would be a cult. -IHOP was in fellowship with the global Church. It has always associated with people of different denominations, primarily evangelical. At times IHOP invited input from other leaders and churches. For example, praying in tongues publicly, a common practice in pentecostal circles, was taken out of the “harp and bowl” model, because of advice from YWAM leaders. #MikeBickle constantly affirmed that the House of Prayer was not the "prayer room" per se or the small expression in Kansas City, but rather the global Body of Christ. The infamous “prophetic history” is public and not secret knowledge. IHOP is no more a cult than the #SBC.
