I walk down Oxford Street all the time. Go to John Lewis, Uniqlo, M&S, the big Boots. Have noticed none of the below. I miss Top Shop though

Every time I walk down Oxford Street feels like an exercise in forgetting what - until recently - London was. The Arabic caterwauling. The waft of dope. The pimped cars. The Gulf vibe. The women in niqabs. The tat shops. A place of foregone grandeur and an irrecoverable England.

@_dogkiller @dennisbhooper I think the characters think he’s the most competent, but he calls almost everything wrong. He makes situations worse. It’s a really clever piece of character writing.

@dennisbhooper it's mostly an 'inside look' into the politics of the blair/brown/early cameron days. malcolm is interesting bc imo the show writes him as often massively cruel, but the only competent member of the party and the only person showing any kind of empathy

As an American who barely understands UK politics it stresses me out trying to identify the precise political POV of this show but watched only from the perspective that Malcolm is the devil I think it’s one of the best things that’s ever been on tv
