@austinginder EmDash's plugin manifest approach is similar to what you did with your Minnow CMS, correct? Thoughts about EmDash so far? I've dabbled in Astro and love it. Considering switching some work to Astro over WordPress.

MIT vs GPL licensed... now go. EmDash is the right kind of open source competition which WordPress was sorely missing. We need more open source solutions powering all of the things user actually use.

@austinginder Guessing 1 - 2 years. M5 Mac Mini's are beasts. TurboQuant and similar tech will shrink the existing requirements. A lot of effort in this direction. Can't wait!

How many years do you think it will take hardware and AI innovation to catch up for local use? Like how long will it be before $1000 laptops can run AI models Opus 4.6 levels or better?

@austinginder Nice looking and so useful! You're right, custom coding apps for your specific workflows will become common. I just vibe-coded a Streamlit app to replace 4 n8n workflows into 1 streamlined app. Now I'm wondering what other processes I can offload from WP or whatever to an app.

I wrote a blog post in markdown using Beckon, a tool I made this week, before having a way to publish it. With AI I just figured I'll just add features as I need them. Well this morning I have post to WordPress working. Gemini is crazy good.

@brianleejackson @_perfmatters I think so. A while back I was deep into css optimizing and I felt something like that was missing. I can't remember what it was, but this feels like that. If I recall it, I'll ping you.

@tryfletch @_perfmatters It would be for entire stylesheets. Anything that is excluded from our parser (for different reasons), anything you manually exclude, or even dynamic stylesheets from pagebuilders/themes.

@alexjvasquez I'll check it out. Been using the Wispr Flow free plan, which is pretty good. Every once in a while I hit my weekly cap, but I should be using it even more. If this works well, could be a game changer.

Whispering is a pretty rad tool for voice dictation. It can process your data with a service like OpenAI Whisper or several other AI tools and put the contents in your clipboard. Quicker than typing things out. I've been super happy with it github.com/epicenter-md/e… -

@brianleejackson @_perfmatters I believe so. Would this be a use case?: I have an element that I can't get its css into the Used CSS, so I slap it into that field to manually force that inline.

@tryfletch @_perfmatters Correct, our parser just needs to catch up with this last Bricks change, and then they would disappear again. Curious, would you be interested in a separate field where you could inline specified CSS? Similiar to individual Delay JS, but for CSS. Gathering feedback. 📝

@brianleejackson @_perfmatters Gotcha. That's good news. So if/once the parser can handle layers, those extra css stylesheets will go away. In the meantime, I preload them to avoid render-block. So glad to hear this.

@tryfletch @_perfmatters Using our dynamic preload feature would be one workaround at the moment. #dynamic-preloads" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">perfmatters.io/docs/preload/#… But yes, we're hoping to get this fixed so that it isn't necessary. Or rather, once the library is upated it should parse these OK again.

@brianleejackson @_perfmatters Excluding Bricks layer stylesheets - is this necessary? It seems then there will be a few render-blocking stylesheets per page. I do Unused CSS + Delay, but those layer stylesheets render-block, so I've preloaded them (not ideal?). Thoughts?

@tryfletch @kinsta From what I can tell all of the web servers are healthy (SSH works). Which makes it even more annoying for a Cloudflare outage to take everything offline.

This is crazy, we're so cooked. HeyGen 3.0 dropped new AI avatars that look real. The viseme morphing appears slightly slow, but 99% of people won’t notice its AI-generated content.
