Wire Network's Universal Transaction Layer coordinates cross-chain ownership. Assets stay on their native chain; Wire settles ownership under dual-consensus. Contracts compile C++ to WASM and deploy once across all supported chains. Built for humans and AI agents. Whitepaper ⬇️

Two things kill startups before they ship, per Wire Network COO Will Little @impact_ape: a technical co-founder who isn't up to speed on modern AI stacks, and no customer acquisition pipeline. The product alone won't save you. "If you build it, they will come" is dead.

This is the fragility hiding in fast cross-chain UX: each protocol picks its own confirmation depth, then eats the loss when a source chain reorgs. Settlement that waits on shared finality across the chains involved removes that guesswork. We're working to take cross-chain there.
Liberty Swap ⚡️ Bridge2Pulse™️ Zero-Fee DEX@LibertySwapFi

Near Intents lost $600K. THORChain lost little money ChangeNOW and other cross-chain swap services also suffered losses, though it’s unclear how much. In the long run, most fast bridges and cross-chain swaps will suffer losses due to block reorgs or coordinated blockchain attacks related to deposits and withdrawals.

Where chain abstraction lives matters. Hiding bridges behind nicer UX still ships the bridge risk. Doing it at the settlement layer, where a contract on one chain can call one on another natively, is the version that actually retires the wrapped-token era.
Right Hand Man@right_hand_mano

We normalized fragmented liquidity for years. We forced users through risky bridges, wrapped tokens, and terrible UX just to interact. That era is dead. Chain abstraction is the new baseline for survival.

Agreed that user-owned is the missing layer. One dimension often left out: the agent's identity itself. If an agent's address only exists on one chain, user-ownership breaks the moment it needs to act somewhere else. Durable, portable identity belongs in the OS.
Illia (root.near) (🇺🇦, ⋈)@ilblackdragon

I really think that agent harness is the final Operating System so we are working on evolving IronClaw design toward that. It's critical that this future Operating System is User-Owned: private, aligned with the user's success and generic to allow to do anything.

The path forward isn't more reactive clean-ups, it's architectures that prevent these events from happening in the first place. We need to get there fast. We're excited about all the projects that are doing their part.

NEW: Tether freezes two separate wallet addresses totaling $344M USDT on Tron. The reason is unknown, while rumors are already spreading. This is the largest asset freezing for Tether to date. Insane week in DeFi.

One forged bridge message moved $11B out of Aave in days. That is composability's real story: bridge risk becomes lending risk becomes stablecoin risk. Cross-chain designs where one forged message cannot cascade are in the works.

🔥 @Aave sees $11B TVL drop following $292M @KelpDAO Hack #Aave’s TVL plunged from $26B to $15B within days, an $11B drop triggered by the $292M #KelpDAO bridge exploit. It lost $6.2B in hours alone, down 23%. The hack caused $200M in bad debt across Aave’s rsETH markets, pushing pools to 100% utilization and trapping an estimated $5B as whales rushed to exit before rsETH turned insolvent. @Morpho, @SkyEcosystem, and #JupLend also saw heavy outflows, with total sector withdrawals reaching approximately $15B in 72 hours. Even #Solana protocols with no direct rsETH exposure were hit. $606M was stolen across 12 exploits in 18 days. @DriftProtocol ($285M on April 1st) and KelpDAO ($292M on April 18th) made up 95% of losses, with both linked to North Korea’s Lazarus Group. It marks the worst month since the Bybit hack in February 2025.

The oracle problem is not new, but the tools to address it have matured. Multi-source validation, time-weighting, and consensus-anchored pricing are all available. The question is why protocols holding nine-figure TVL are still shipping without them.
Halborn@HalbornSecurity

Oracle manipulation is still draining DeFi protocols in 2026. 🚨 Rhea Finance was hacked for an estimated $7.6M because its price oracle relied on recent data to price tokens, not taking historical context into account.

DeFi is due for stronger architecture. When assets stay on their native chain and ownership transacts under dual-consensus, whole categories of losses stop being architecturally possible. Builders are doing this work.
fity.eth@Fityeth

Hacks and exploits are still happening. Even in 2025–2026, DeFi keeps getting hit: • smart contract bugs • oracle manipulation • flash loan attacks Billions have been lost recently. Security still isn’t solved. Take your money out of DeFi. Stay safe.
