Thrilled to see our 30 hour "Generations for Earth" tree planting marathon featured on @ntvkenya 🌳 Planting 3,000 indigenous trees continuously at Mucheene Forest Station was a massive test of endurance, but seeing this vital message broadcast across the nation makes every single hour worth it. Kenya’s mandate to plant 15 billion trees requires all of us to step up and lead from the front. We are just getting started. This November, we are launching a massive, inclusive drive to plant over 100,000 seedlings, and we are calling on everyone youth, elders, leaders, and the government to join us. Let's keep making history together! 🌍🌳 #GenerationsForEarth #ClimateAction #TreePlanting #Kenya

We successfully completed our 30 hour continuous tree planting initiative, achieving our goal of planting 3,000 indigenous trees at the Mucheene Forest Station. Despite the physical exhaustion and the logistical challenges of a day and night vigil, the resilience and endurance we set out to demonstrate carried us across the finish line. This achievement was not a solitary effort. I extend my deepest gratitude to our strategic partners and supporters on the ground: the National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs), the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), the Kenya Red Cross, and every community member who stood with us. A profound note of appreciation goes to my mother, Chief Kellen. She served not only as my co-planter in this duo marathon but as an invaluable mentor. Her strength and leadership were the anchors that kept our momentum alive hour after hour. The Reality of the National Directive As a nation, we have a government directive to plant 15 billion trees. With a population of approximately 50 million Kenyans, the mathematics dictate that this is not a walk in the park it requires every single citizen to take deliberate action. We cannot afford to be passive. I am strongly urging our youth, our elders, and our community leaders to step up and lead from the absolute frontline of this environmental restoration mandate. Looking Ahead: The 100,000 Tree Objective We have proven what is possible in 30 hours, but our vision is much larger. As we prepare for the next rainy season this coming November, we are scaling our efforts significantly to plant over 100,000 indigenous seedlings and continue restoring our vital water catchments. This upcoming November drive will be a massive, inclusive general event targeting absolutely everyone. We are calling upon friends, youth, elders, local community members, leaders, and the government, alongside sponsors and donors, to join hands with us. It will take a unified front from all levels of society to achieve this monumental goal. Let us all embrace this responsibility because every day is a tree growing day. Thank you all for being part of the change. -Eric Koome Mwenda.
