I’ve been reflecting on this, and the best advice I can give is just get out and talk to some gay people. Take a gay for a cuppa. Have a chat. Ignorance creates division, but we are all humans. There is no place for homophobia in the UK, just like there is no place for Islamophobia. Make bridges, not fences!

A great deal of the abuse aimed at 5Pillars is simply Islamophobic smearing from critics who have a problem with practising Muslims and the public expression of Islamic beliefs. People are free to disagree with our views. But portraying 5Pillars as "extreme" or "fringe" is detached from reality. 5Pillars is the largest, most popular Muslim news platform in the UK and represent a mainstream, normative Muslim perspective, whether our detractors like it or not.
