@MilkJamLondon @jennylinford So true. It’s what we do... soil, grass, livestock, milk and ultimately cheese. It’s the value of the whole culture that’s so at risk.

@jennylinford @ApplebysCheese That is the nub of the problem: specialist cheesemakers have been working over the past 10 yrs to hone milk specifically for cheesemaking. Now much of that milk is being sold as commodity milk at an unsustainable price. Consumers lose wonderful cheese, farmers lose needed money.

They have so much cheese in stock that they have stopped making cheese. The milk from their cows is instead being sold as milk, with milk prices very low. "This massively affects our business."
