@evrisupportline I struggle to comprehend how a business can continue to operate in such an unapologetically poor manner. If a parcel is to be sent by Evri, my heart sinks. Prefer @parcelforce @AmazonUK

#evri could be the start of the end for couriers. Companies like #dpd or #royalmail could suffer from people being reticent to purchase online for fear of suffering the utter shitshow that is #Evri’s service

@TWBFarms Why do you farmers make it so complicated? Put less inputs in, get the same out, make more profit - easy.

@terrychristian I’m ‘trying’ to keep an open mind 🫣. That increased minimum wage may be a vote winner but those folks will need it with the (food) inflation that’s on its way. That’s with a step back in food security and potentially food safety - let’s hope they take fingers out of their ears

@agricontract @SteveReedMP @CommonsEFRA Well hang on, what he is saying is mostly true - it’s just so unbelievably ‘mickey mouse’ and disregards the variability in almost every other factor that influences plant growth. Rainfall, temperature, sunlight, soil type, soil analysis, relief, pests.

It’s very easy to get mad @SteveReedMP for this comment at the @CommonsEFRA today BUT I just think he’s been listening to the wrong people having met him when he was shadow minister in my home town for a chat once I think if he spent a few hours on my farm looking at things it would help him understand better #KettleIsOnSteve any time sooner the better

Utterly floored this evening as I’ve had to make the most difficult decision about my best mate. I took him for granted these last few months. We are going to miss him so much.

I’m looking for a very special Manager for a large dairy business with exemplary performance. These opportunities don’t come up very often. People management, process management and the right attitude is what’s needed. uk.indeed.com/m/viewjob?jk=a…

@narindertweets The country needs a well-invested industry. Without security, it is difficult to invest. The issue of farmers and the issue of Nigel Farage are quite different and should be thought of as such. He doesn’t represent me and I do wish he’d stop using it as a political tool.

@Shutterstock make it very difficult to find where you cancel a plan. It means they ‘renew’ so a monthly payment comes out. You need time to click through all the vaguely related pages & in the end click on the ‘load more’ icon. If you are lucky, you find it. It’s crooked 👎🏻

@DeborahMeaden @Keir_Starmer Yes, considered and calm. We don’t need security of food though. That’s simply not that important. We can just buy it from ….😳

@hayek_tendency @HefinR When you do something for an industry because “we are really good at it”, it’s like you are saying we’re really bad at everything else. Farming is just putting a cow in a field and driving range rovers isn’t it? 🤷🏼‍♂️. Perhaps that’s how it appears?

@agricontract It’s the ‘scoff’ he makes. He did the same in the other interview he did. That is what really makes me cringe…. “I understand it’s important to farmers but … scoff… snigger… we might lose the NHS without a farming inheritance tax”.

@sprinkles785 A real shame. Sorry to see this but don’t torture yourself over it. I bet you haven’t counted and celebrated all the calves you have saved by being there at the right time.

@Sulla7890 @_RobbieMoore What return did you receive on your 25 rentable properties? 8%? 10%? Farmers could make £100 annual return on an acre worth of £14k. The problem may be with the farmers but it is ultimately with all of us as land ownership is security to justify investment… and we need food 🤷🏼‍♂️

@_RobbieMoore As we did. We ran three businesses, waste management haulage, and 25 rentable properties. We have paid over half a mill in inheritance tax; why should they not? Do farmers work harder than miners, road sweepers, or business owners? So why not pay like everybody else?

@HefinR More August calvings?! I’m pretty sure I’ve seen NMR data on this. Question is, is seasonality driving Autumn calving into early August to avoid sustained Spring milk?

I honestly do not believe that “cows in fields” had anything to so with the increase in production in Nov and Dec.. I suspect they contributed a very small % of the total production and none of the increase😉🐄
Farm Contractor & Large Scale Farmer@Farmconmagazine

According to a report from @TheAHDB, milk production is forecast to increase by 1.1% in 2025. Favourable weather enabled producers to keep cows out in the field, with milk deliveries increasing by 4.5% and 3.3% in November and December, respectively. farmcontractormagazine.com/livestock/dair…

@louistheroux @jamieoliver @SpotifyUK Would love the opportunity to talk to @jamieoliver about what actually happens in farming rather than some of the utter rubbish that came out in this podcast. I really like both of you guys so I’m really disappointed.
