@AustinSundeen @travismesser81 I had an mfwd with lsws on it. I believe the lsws were a taller tire and took away pulling power. Just my 2cents for my situation. Wouldn't go back to LSWs for a planter tractor.

@travismesser81 Will be the first year with this setup so it might be a learning curve, had a 8345R on LSWs and I was happy with it except it just ran at 2100 all day and when I got aggressive with the row cleaners it fell on its face.

@AgassizPrec @PrecisionPlant Tighter discs would be an increase in the card to card length when tightened down. If the perfect length would be 2inches, what would you set brand new discs at? Because they will adjust a little bit with paint and maybe some small metal burs worn off the first few acres.

@BaerView @PrecisionPlant We stay on the tighter side of the range with new disks. Shimming them too tight leads to bearing failure. 😞

@AustinSundeen @NorthStarAg2 I wasn’t sure if it was available. I’ve never asked about the transmissions but I do need to get a bigger tractor on my db60. 8rt just isn’t enough. Sure is nice to dial right in to speed, maybe not as crucial with exact emerge?

I have a friend who lives in Florida and Mows yards, and does yard maintenance for a living Lives in over $1 million house with pool in the backyard and they take multiple vacations every year…. After today’s market report one has to think why we do what we do when there’s so many other ways to make a buck

@JasonSchley Best bang for buck might be chicken manure from layer chickens and saw dust or sunflower hulls. We made 10s of thousands of tons before we got new chicken equipment. Gets hot enough that flys don't reproduce, which was one of our goals with it before we got new layer equipment.

How many of you make your own compost? If you do, what materials do you most commonly use? Has it worked well? With the expense of hauling stock piled cattle manure mixed with bedding and seeing results with composted manure I wonder why more haven’t tried it? Just curious who has real world experience and if it’s been a good investment or not.

At what point does it pay to put 3 phase in? Runs 200’ away from me, electric coop said they would trench it in for free
