As a California resident and taxpayer, I’m tired of carrying the rest of the country. We’re the fourth largest economy in the world and you all are just sitting back and letting us do the work. How about you all get off your lazy asses and pitch in.

I’d rather have an employee who is realizing their family dreams and a well run business can accommodate that. Your employees aren’t spending their lives working and nothing else.

YOU brought that up we are talking about a planned/avoidable/expected leave for pregnancy. you will pay for 6 employees to stay home with their kids AND pay their replacements and be fine?

I’m serious about paid leave. Yeah, it’s fine for the public sector when the taxpayer pays the bill and most of the work is fake. How do people think it works in the private sector? You have a team of six people. One person goes AWOL for six months. What do you think happens to the other five people?

According to the gas station trade group, it takes an average of 4.5 minutes to fill up and pay for a tank of gas. That's excluding the drive there. Assuming one tank per week over three years of ownership, that's 11.7 hours saved simply by owning a Tesla EV with home charging.

@meta_x_ai @chriswithans “Europe” doesn’t have 10% unemployment. Some countries are that high ( Spain, Greece) but overall European unemployment is around 6%.

Actually, this is the funniest thing I’ve read all day. Happy Easter to all, especially the servicemen who would have been left to die if we had a democrat sitting in the White House. But they’re alive and safe, thanks to a president who has a spine.

Something I don’t understand is how you can live in an apartment and complain about noise from your neighbors. We have two kids under 10 and they’re always making noise. Older neighbors sometimes complain or bang on the floor or ceiling. If you don’t like noise, then why are you living in a city or an apartment? Go live in the middle of nowhere. Go live in a farm town in a big field. You chose the convenience of urban life… you have to accept that you’re living around other humans. Get over it.

"The brain needs carbohydrates to function." This one gets repeated so often that people treat it as a law of biology. It's not. The brain has a minimum glucose requirement. That's true. But the liver can produce that glucose from protein and fat through a process called gluconeogenesis. You do not need to eat carbohydrates for your brain to have all the glucose it needs. And on top of that, the brain can run on ketones. In some cases more efficiently than on glucose. Especially in brains with impaired glucose metabolism, which covers a significant percentage of people with serious mental illness. The "your brain needs carbs" argument is not biology. It's food industry talking points dressed up as science.
