It's easy to forget that this year marks the 250th anniversary of the USA's independence.
Around 20 years ago, such a milestone would be celebrated with a year-long blitz of TV specials, movies, decorations, books, exhibits, etc.
Today, it barely registers as a footnote.

@wwxwashere Outside of this entire section of cringe, she’s also violating a basic rule of writing that I learned in elementary school: Don’t use “says”. Find a more descriptive verb when someone is speaking. Otherwise it’s repetitive and amateur sounding.
