Lets see how these fuckers exploit my live tells now. Everything you do at a poker table conveys information. Trolololrona @BeyondTells @apokerplayer @mikecaro

You know you’re itching for #Vegas when you’re already betting on who gets a better boarding spot when flying @SouthwestAir

@BeyondTells @zacshaw @apokerplayer @DrTriciaCardner Do not listen to this lunatic from @BeyondTells he has me stuck in a taxi and can't get up town in NYC to our home game tonight.

Question for the #poker brain brains: Could specific tells be linked to ‘Big 5’ personality traits, such as if you’re low in openness you’re more likely to be a nit? Would be interesting to tailor coaching content to personality...

@DrTriciaCardner @zacshaw @apokerplayer Yea qualitative > quant when it comes to poker. We used grounding theory as a methodology and couldn’t be happier. I had people manually count 500,000 blink rates just to look at a lot of variance in data : |
English

@BeyondTells @zacshaw @apokerplayer I agree 💯 on this! I considered doing a dissertation using a personality profile with players but reconsidered in the end - sample sizes were going to be a real issue & there was little theory to build on re: poker players. Went qualitative route instead.
English

@zacshaw @apokerplayer @DrTriciaCardner Also probably use the CPI - California Psychological Inventory. I have such a love hate relationship with psychological assessments it’s crazy. I’ll make a video about it. You are giving me ideas @zacshaw don’t get me started!!!!
English

@apokerplayer @DrTriciaCardner @BeyondTells I just started investigating it myself. It seems like a useful tool for understanding human psychology but like all things in the field, skepticism is the baseline.
English

@apokerplayer @zacshaw @DrTriciaCardner We could technically give the big 5 to people and see but sample size would need to be huge for it to be empirical. I’m also not the biggest fan of the Big 5 and prefer other instruments for personality assessment although it’s a good start
English

@zacshaw @DrTriciaCardner @BeyondTells I wouldn’t know anything about that. Never heard of the big 5 thing, sorry.
English

@ChristianSoto08 haha seriously that's impressive they expanded

@pratyushbuddiga 1.5 of the jalapeño knocked me out after a 30 hour fast. Tested blood with strips. They are really really good though
