African Americans, after 400 years in the U.S., are on average about 30% European. Will be more in a 100 years or so.

@aspiringxtian @Blackcapitalis @bieby07 Jewish communities have been in Europe for over 2,000 years and have significantly shaped its history. Jewish financiers helped fund monarchies, wars, trade and the rise of modern banking. Christianity itself has roots in Jewish history.

@d_knight73 @GrenadaLoyalist Nazi Germany was a poisoned chalice that ultimately brought devastation to both the Jewish population. Germany and other European countries that had benefited from forced Jewish labor paid billions in reparations to Israel, helping to restore some measure of justice.

@i_am_nunya The transatlantic slave trade was far more than a simple exchange between willing sellers and buyers. Europeans armed and financed these networks and groups that resisted risked enslavement. The scale and nature of this slavery differed significantly from earlier forms.

I don’t quite understand the slavery reparations debate. Strangers came asking for people, and you captured and sold your own people without much resistance, trading them for goods. The people were then used to build economies through farming and hard labor abroad.
