And on nonfarm #jobs specifically: Year to date, the preliminary November numbers show California essentially stagnant, with a loss of 7,500 jobs. Since January 2024, California has grown only 14,900 jobs, while the US as a whole has expanded by 2.5 million.

His passing is a tremendous loss for California and the nation. Doug dedicated his life to public service and was a steadfast advocate for rural communities, agriculture, and the businesses that sustain California’s economy. He brought a strong work ethic, practical perspective, and deep commitment to his constituents to every role he served. Our thoughts are with the LaMalfa family and all those mourning the loss of a respected leader and public servant.”

Non-disclosure agreements have no place in public policy debates. We are grateful for the leadership of now-Congressman @RepVinceFong and Assemblymember @AsmJoePatterson for fighting for this critically needed reform. With Governor Newsom's signing of the bill, important policy discussions will be forced into the daylight, not relegated to backrooms without public knowledge.
