@Switchblade97 Dave works so hard to discredit Brian's opinion, but in the end, Dave throws in the "anything can happen" line to protect himself. Which is Dave's m.o. now. But everyone but Dave, and the people who subscribe and align their opinions with him, are the ones who are 'deranged'.

And I actually agree with Dave on the TKO stuff. If AEW doesn't get picked up, it will be because its wildly overvalued for an asset that underperforms and not because of TKO

Watch Dave flip flop if AEWs option doesn't get picked up. He'll blame WWE & TKO despite saying stuff like this multiple times already.

@ChrisBlock I could see them be 5-10 points out of a playoff spot next year and a bubble team the year after. Should be a consistent playoff team after that

Top to bottom. Disarray. Embarrassing. Frondell alone will not save them.

@DaBearzzzz They gave up on Korch a long time ago. If they knew how, you'd have seen it by now. Davidson made a great deal getting a 1st in the Dickinson deal. It flipped the whole market. Screwed it all. And good on Kyle. But all signs indicate this will be a never-ending rebuild.

@ChrisBlock The guys that have that potential (Levshunov, Rinzel, maybe Korchinski) are still year away from being a year away

@AlCimaglia since the beginning of December.. Nazar missed a month from before x-mas to mid January. So, in the games he's played since the start of December, Nazar has 2 goals, 6 helpers and the Blackhawks are 5-13-1-3 in those games.

I watched most of the game last night and I didn't see much from Frank Nazar. Actually haven't noticed him often since coming back from injury. So I asked my statistician @ChrisBlock what's up and he fired back: Since returning in 22 games Nazar has- 2 goals , 6 assists and is-12. The team is 5-13-1-3. 🙀

@MeltzerSaidWhat Imagine being in wrestling and having an off the record conversation with Dave these days... With all these stream of consciousness podcasts he does, he's virtually incapable of keeping anything to himself if it gets in the way of proving how smart he is.

@ByScottPowers Though the real issue is awareness/decision making, it's a bad idea to be specific & put this kid under a microscope. Blashill could've just said Lev hit a wall & they're giving him a break. I don't take issue with a coach being vague with media. As long as he's honest w/players.

@AlCimaglia @MrButtermaker Was that the question, Al? Hjalmarsson was a great development, but not a player with the raw talent to build around at the level of Levshunov. Hammer was a complimentary dman on a great team. Today's Hawks need a couple of those too.

@MrButtermaker @ChrisBlock The best Dman the Hawks developed in the AHL besides Keith was Hammer. Seabrook hardly played in the AHL. That's it in the last 20 years.

The Levshunov sucks tweets are happening more frequently. @ChrisBlock and I brought up the following on our New Year's day podcast....Anders Sorenson was handed a very important position of working with the defense which includes young guys w/o much experience. Not sure how he earned that spot, it's different than being a developmental/skills coach. It appears a new coach for the defense could be the needed change.

@MrButtermaker @AlCimaglia That's a great question. Byfuglien would be one. I remember the 1st time I saw him in Norfolk, I didn't take Buff seriously, but thought 'this could really be something if...' Keith needed a lot of work at first. Trent Yawney and work ethic overcame that. Levshunov needs a coach.

@moulitsas Sounds good, but who, though? Blackhawks are trying to be competitive. Who can push the puck better than Levshunov in that lineup tonight? I'm not saying he's a bad prospect. I'm saying they haven't put the players, coaches around him to help Lev improve. He needs a lot of work.

@ChrisBlock Hawks aren’t in a position where they need to force Levshunov into a ton of minutes. You’ll see the team reel in his minutes as he falters and expand them as he grows. We both know development isn’t linear.

@moulitsas He has the ability. Hawks don't have any better options, and they're trying to progress Levshunov. That's the reason for the increased minutes. In my view. He can drive play when he's on. There's no doubt about that. It's the decision-making that is in ? and must be brought along

@ChrisBlock Disagree that Levshunov is stalling or regressing as they are increasing his minutes and sheltering him less and less. What seems like a regression could just Lev adapting to tougher minutes (and a lot of them)

@Switchblade97 @JCup2013 Also could be, for either or both, that those existing deals included cross-promotional tie-ins. It would make a lot of sense on the WBD side, in terms of getting to that supposed $180m figure. So it wouldn't necessarily indicate anything other than satisfying terms of the deals.

@JCup2013 I guess the point I'm making is that in the absence of any other evidence, these cross promotions are a sign that both WBD & Netflix are happy, or they are a sign that both WBD & Netflix are just trying to get their money worth on deals they've already signed.

Here's a question. If WWE teaming up with Netflix properties can only mean Netflix are happy, what does it say when AEW teams up with other WBD owned properties?
tmac4121@TimD1214

@TheRajGiri The fact they’re teaming with stranger things too says all you need to know @Switchblade97 @netflix and @WWE aren’t going anywhere & anyone can spin whatever negative news. Wwe& Netflix will be a team together for 10/15+ years. So much more to it than the weekly rating

@davemeltzerWON Dave, I remember you used to have a self-imposed rule of not talking about the awards, or HOF for that matter, before the voting period ended. You've obviously changed your position. Is it more because you have to fill podcasts with content or worried voters won't vote correctly?
