One of the first things I figured out when I moved to Oakland and started working for the A’s in 2018 was the lengths ownership was willing to go to push fans away. I couldn’t believe when I learned parking at the coliseum was $40 except for Tuesdays

I'm sympathetic to the fans, don't get me wrong, but the A's haven't averaged more than 11,000 a home game since before the 2020 pandemic season. I covered it for all of my 51 seasons as a baseball writer. It's so sad on so many different fronts.
