Man I can't even imagine how much volume the Masters would have done on Kalshi if they hadn't switched to deci-cent across the orderbook. Everyone will be jumping around and not loading up levels - I understand wanting to do it 99+/98+...but will squash liquidity elsewhere

@a_kane47 Maybe the concept is open and transparent but Kalshi is anything but. They are more crooked than even the softest regulated books. It’s too bad there hasn’t been an ethical torch bearer for the idealized concept.

I like a lot of Dan’s reporting, but this angle is tired. It’s super easy to dunk on Kalshi/others when they refuse to call the activity sports betting. A new and refreshing angle would explore why categorizing Kalshi’s activity as “sports gambling” presents a trap door of ill-fitting state regulation that would completely erase the concept of an open, transparent, federal exchange model.
Dan Bernstein@dan_bernstein_

EXCLUSIVE: Kalshi classified itself as a sports gambling product in a trademark filing for the term "prediction market." That's despite the company's public stance being that it has nothing to do with gambling.

@DanPickz2 It’s been sad to see FD just give up and become a POS book like the rest of them.

Has anyone else experienced this bullshit? You go to place a live bet on FanDuel and the amount you type in doesn’t show as over the limit, but the bet won’t get accepted. “Something went wrong” You just have to guess what the limit is until the bet gets accepted and of course the line has usually moved by then. FIX THIS @FDSportsbook

@BigBuckHunterrr So if someone has a model that shows more correlation than the maker they are a bad actor?

The purpose of an RFQ system is to provide a mechanism for people to purchase exotic, complex, or illiquid assets BECAUSE they want to own them. It’s not a playground for bad actors to hunt for price engine errors.

@BigBuckHunterrr @eightyhi I see, thx. Is this true? Feels not standard but I'm no expert x.com/ediyork/status…

@goldenpants013 @JonAguiar Love your pod and your content has been really helpful. However it’s really off putting how you side with PM’s being able to limit people especially when they claim to be antithetical to it.

@Flupnolide @JeffreyBenson12 Why is it a great rule? I’m all for doing what they can to try to make it more difficult for syndicates having 100+ entries but I don’t see anyway to prevent it. Those that sign can still pass off the winnings via 1099 right?

For any Circa Survivor or potential Circa Survivor players what do you want/think the max number of entries for one individual should be capped at?

Prediction markets aren’t going away anytime soon However there’s a caveat to reporting; Vegas (or any regulated market) is one way traffic so to get a fair reflection of prediction market handle every number needs to be halved
MovieTime@MovieTimeDev

Vegas did $130M on the Super Bowl. Prediction markets did $1.33B. 10x Vegas 1. @Kalshi - $871M 2. @Polymarket - $312M 3. @opinionlabsxyz - $92M 4. @predictdotfun - $31M 5. @Novig - $19M 6. @SX_Bet - $5M 7. @Overtime_io - $443K

We had a lot of alt lines given out on SuperStream 60 last night. I ran them through the @UnabatedSports alt line calculator to see which had value: ✅SEA -7.5 +159 🧮: +157 ✅SEA -13.5 +300 🧮: +275 ✅SEA -16.5 +420 🧮: +391 ❌SEA -6.5 +108 🧮: +122

@Clevta Thanks for sharing! With the exception of JAX/PIT (which was 18 degrees with 2 mph winds) and a push with ATL/PHI, games are going under when a warm weather team is playing.

@d0wnsideofme lol, i was referencing the legal regulated market with regard to non-market making books (DK, MGM, etc.) This has nothing to do with circa/sharp books/exchanges

It can be euphoric for those of us in the industry to hear “no taxes on gambling winnings”. Then you quickly realize that no individual gamblers have anywhere near the money to bribe this idea into fruition. And the casinos could give two shits about your personal tax bill.

Didn’t understand why DJ was visibly upset after this play. Watched this clip again, I totally get it now. The game was right there, why throw it to a contested Cole Kmet when you have Moore wide open for 6? Can’t make these mistakes.

@tjmcaulay 2 feet are down and AFTER he extends the ball, what are you talking about? You are ruining your credibility.

This pass is incomplete as the current rule is written and applied. He gets control and 2 feet down for sure. *After* that, he must maintain control and he *must* perform an act common to the game *OR* have time to do so. The key word is “after”. He does not perform an act common to the game after the 2nd step. He doesn’t get an additional step down and the extension everyone is pointing out occurs *before* the 2nd step is down so it does not apply. In real time, he loses control very quickly *after* the 2nd step, so the time aspect is not met either. I would speculate the Competition Committee will look at this and discuss whether to tweak the rule to make this a catch (I think they should), but right now, this is an incomplete pass by rule.
