Joe willock has played 154 minutes in the league since September. Yet starts for Newcastle away at PSG in a game they need to win to reach the knockouts. Just an utterly bizarre decision to start him. #NUFC

So exciting news time, I'm moving back to Newcastle for my next post-doc position! Turns out my academic career may not be as dead & buried as I thought.

For context Anthony Gordon scored at home against every single Sky 6 club in the 23/24 season. Every single one. He is currently on a run of 17 PL games without a goal. His all round game is nowhere near the level he have seen from him. #nufc

A few pointers: 1) We’re a better team with Murphy on the pitch. 2) Gordon isn’t a CF. 3) Woltemade needs to start. 4) This team has big potential. 5) I’m proud to be a Newcastle United fan. #NUFC

@Stevejbramsey @mickthehood @NUFC Random balloting I can only imagine. There were supposed to be 100k in the ballot for a much smaller number of tickets. Just speculating here ofc.

@DJS_Priv @mickthehood @NUFC I was in the original and missed out, the problem is that some people on that list of those who missed out received the email and others did not, so what is the criteria you need to meet to be on that list the club emailed to inform them of the additional tickets? Needs answering

Why, under any circumstances would the asking price suddenly drop to £60m? It’s a World Cup year, he’s absolutely massive for us and his contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2029.
Empire of the Kop@empireofthekop

Liverpool are expected to push for a January move for Adam Wharton, whose asking price in the winter market is expected to be around £60m, a significant decrease on the £100m that Crystal Palace were demanding for him during the summer 🪙 #LFC [@MarkBrusCOS]

@LukeEdwardsTele You’ve been one of very few decent Newcastle Media folk during the Isak saga. Have yourself a half day on Friday and have the weekend off

As a high ranking Liverpool official said this summer, if you want to know what is really happening at Newcastle United read Luke Edwards in the Telegraph. I was flattered. I only ever report what I’m told and learn. I was wrong to say that Alexander Isak would not be sold this summer. But that was my information at the time. It was steadfast. But things change, situations alter, people move in a different direction and I have to try and keep up with them. When the time came, I broke the exclusive story that Newcastle had agreed a £130m deal to sell Isak to Liverpool. Forget the rest who pretend they did, they didn’t. Yes this is a boast post. It has been a long, hard summer. I’ve had to deal with a major family trauma, a major tournament with England women’s team. And I’ve had to keep track of the transfer saga of the decade. To do this job is to commit to it. I’ve spent more time on the phone this summer, talking to people, messaging people, to try and do what I do best. I love what I do but it’s not easy. My wife joked that I gave my family four days of our two week summer holiday. Four days when I wasn’t on the phone dealing with Newcastle United matters. And talking about Alexander bloody Isak. So yes, you can send me tweets about what I said earlier in the summer, but at the time everything was as it was told to me. You can call me names, I don’t care, it makes me smile most of the time. I’m wired differently to most. But when push came to shove, when the pressure was on, every single moment was worth it when I exclusively revealed that Isak was heading to Liverpool for £130m. That is the job I do. I don’t rip off other people’s information and pretend it’s my own, I don’t pretend I know what is happening. I don’t conjure up tweets out of thin air for engagement and profit on here, telling people what they want to hear. I’m not paid by agents to leak stories, I report. You can be wrong, but in the end, when you get a story 100% right, it’s all worth it. Sorry for the self indulgence, but this is a love letter to all the newspaper journalists out there who do what I do every single day and are subjected to the abuse that comes with it on here every single day. Keep smiling, we watch football for a living. Nothing better than that xx

@LukeEdwardsTele This is all gona end real bad for Newcastle. If promises were made and they have back out, if he has evidence then it could get sticky. Let’s see how this pans out. Looks like a court case could be on the cards. He could buy out his own contract and leave for nothing🤷🏽‍♂️

I sat my O Levels during the Summer of 1976. We didn't take a drinks bottle to school. We weren't told to wear a hat. We weren't banned from sitting in the sun. None of us had "special needs". None had a nut allergy. There was no DEI bollocks. We were just normal happy kids.

During my early years (I'm 73), we were urged to... * Save up for a deposit to buy a house. * Put money into a private pension. * Work long & hard to put money aside for a 'rainy day'. My wife & I, along with many of our peers, did all three & now @UKLabour want the lot!
