The Ireland U17 lineup for the final qualifier against Slovakia!🇮🇪 A win by 2/3 goals should put them in a great position to finish as one of the four best runners up and qualify for the World Cup. A win plus a Poland win over Croatia would mean that Ireland would top the group and qualify for the Euros and World Cup. Graphic is wrong on lineup. Ozhianvuna is at RB, Sheridan in midfield, Spaight LCB with Burke LB. No stream for the game unfortunately.

@reptracker Good summary Conor, Ireland dominated that 2nd half and were so unlucky not to get something out of the game. The boys played some lovely football and did the country proud #COYBIG 🇮🇪

Croatia have defeated Ireland U17s in their second group game in the Elite Round qualifiers. A disappointing result from Mark Connors’ side, who in truth dominated large spells of the game but conceded two goals that probably could have been avoided. Ireland hit the crossbar twice in the second half through Victor Ozhianvuna and Josh O’Dwyer, and by the statistics alone they were on top. Unfortunately that’s football, it doesn’t always play out that the better team wins. The defeat makes qualification for the Euros more difficult. If Croatia avoid defeat against Poland in the final game, they will secure top spot in the group. However, if Poland were to beat Croatia and Ireland defeat Slovakia, all three teams would finish on six points. In that scenario UEFA would form a mini-table using the head-to-head results between the three sides. With Ireland beating Poland, Croatia beating Ireland and Poland potentially beating Croatia, the teams would be level on head-to-head points and the standings would then be decided by goal difference within those matches. If Ireland can beat Slovakia and Poland defeat Croatia, Ireland would therefore still have a strong chance of topping the group depending on the margin of those results. Even if Ireland do not finish first, a win over Slovakia could still leave them in a strong position among the best runners-up across the Elite Round groups, which is important for qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year.

Went to Bodø in '19. Was told no foreign journalists visited. I was treated well. Met everyone, allowed in dressing room, met at the airport by club legends. I expected Glimt to challenge for a first Norwegian title. No more. Won 4 titles since, Euro regulars and flying in CL

I’ve come to Bodø in the Arctic Circle to write about the the big derby match against Tromsø for @FourFourTwo magazine. Also just spotted a Liverpool flag on a house which I’ll need to liberate under the cover of the northern lights.

Lot more physicality/speed than you’d expect from Shamrock Rovers, with the signing of Brennan, Asamoah + Sobowale. That should change my season prediction. The loan element to the latter two though should raise questions to their strategy. (long term)
