gaming does trigger some kind of scrupulous obsessive compulsive behavior because of how many approaches and how subjective the experience can be but the truth is there is no perfect way to play a game and u just have to follow ur heart, playing in the way that speaks to u.

@jetjaguar2236 I made this post with OoT in mind, I was just thinking about how distinct the text box and menu sounds are. But I do love when there's consistency between entires because hearing those sounds again is like seeing an old friend (thinking about ace attorney games)

@DeadFeature What are your fav sound effects, oomf. I like how a lot of Sakurai's games have the same/similar menu sfx, and I loved Monster Hunter's menus until they changed them for no reason!

Menu sound effects are such an important part of a game's identity to me. Even the sound of you moving through the menu options often sticks out to me when thinking about a game.

In an alternate life, maybe I could've been a sound designer
