Iron deficiency is an under recognized problem w/adverse impacts on morbidity & mortality. Using ⁦@CDCgov⁩ data, we found ~40% of 12-21yo females to be iron deficient(!) & this was assoc w/non White race, Hispanic ethnicity, poverty & menstruation. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…
