@lyrasie Why are you doing a serious critique of a dumb kid's anime about magicians
English

@besslilburne US has a special relationship with the UK in the same way that Paris Hilton had a special relationship with the chihuahua she kept in her handbag
English

@khanofkhans77 @NondescriptRed Really Venezuela was just trying to do social democracy based on their oil reserves the same way Norway was; but see what happens when a developing country tries to do what Europeans nestled in the Bossom of empire do.
English

@NondescriptRed and also that the most successful social democratic systems are in the nordic countries, which didn't colonize Africa
sure you can argue that they partake in global capitalist institutions and profit that way but so would Cuba if they weren't embargoed by the US lol
English

This is very easily dismissed by social democratic ideas being also tremendously popular in places like south/central america and India. It should not be our main critique of social democracy.

English

@Fine_Feels @richardparke15 @christina_ivey As were a lot of scots, not all were there to run or enforce the colonial rule.
English

@John_Quatermass @Y2K_mindset As if social media fosters any of these qualities.
English

@tequilasunseb @MourningScholar @svetapalasha To larp you actually have to go outside, which self-proclaimed communists don't
English

@MourningScholar @svetapalasha To be fair there are no communists yet, so we are all larping.
English

@avispartan1 @StrengthBuild The inherent condition of any people is...what...racist, reactionary, self-aggrandising? Source?
English

@StrengthBuild This is just the inherent condition of any people not subject to a state or state-like disciplinary institution. Leftists will never accomplish anything until they recognize that Hobbes was correct.
English

There's no "ancient tribal wisdom passed down from oral history" in this. It's alarmingly reactionary and ethnically supremacist. So much clicked together for me. Their hostility to rural Communists, the vague similarities to zionist self aggrandizement, the machismo.

@richardparke15 @christina_ivey I said colonial administrators, not governors, when referring to Indians. That means clerks, bureaucrats, lawyers, policemen, and petty bourgeoisie. The Irish population in Jamaica were sent there as indentured servants, not as administrators.
English

@Fine_Feels @christina_ivey So I mean .. it’s trivially true most Irish people were not colonial governors … just like most English people weren’t.
English

@BEASTMO90001125 Each of those movements are more popular than the left
English

@richardparke15 @christina_ivey Nice googling. Now Google why the vast majority of Irish people in Jamaica were there and what their roles were.
English

@joedivisionsss @christina_ivey And by Irish it was largely Scots-Irish anyway. They used their experience being brutal thugs in Ulster to be brutal thugs in colonial America.
English

@Fine_Feels @christina_ivey both the irish and scots were over represented in the empire
English

@Fine_Feels @fakechuck @RogueScholarPr If you put input into a broken calculator, why would you trust the output? Health effects cognition.
English

@VRfauve @fakechuck @RogueScholarPr Mental unwellness really has nothing to do with truth, unless the person you are criticising is literally espousing schizophrenic hallucinations
English

@fakechuck @RogueScholarPr If you're a public figure with a clear manifestation of mental unwellness then why shouldn't that be taken into account?
English

@Rattny2 @FrameInOrder Bosnians were always white, even by Nazi standards. As a matter of fact, Bosnians are OG Europeans, one of the oldest haplogroups on the continent with direct ties to Nordic countries (Balkans was the first place in Europe that was habitable after the Ice Age).
English

@VanDyke86975 @ArmyBarber Why should we care about extending empathy to Jews?
English

@ArmyBarber Jews, and I don’t think Arabs being the far right inbred Jew haters that they are get a say on it
English

Ok if you don't universalize the Holocaust then it was one specific event that will never happen again, who cares?
Corey Walker 🇺🇸@CoreyWriting
I actually visited the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem today. Comparing Gaza to the Holocaust is insanely historically illiterate. Universalizing the lessons of the Holocaust has only served to water down the severity of that crime.
English

@JoyceCarolOates Also Helen of Troy is fictional so it doesn't matter
English

it was brilliant casting. but why? because Cillian Murphy is an actor.
Nolan cast the very best actor for the role, which is what directors try to do if they have the budget.
when Joel Coen cast Denzel Washington for the role of Macbeth, that too was a brilliant stroke of casting.
why? because Denzel Washington is an actor.
🟦 Patrick Towey, Not A Right-Wing Nutjob@toweypat
@JoyceCarolOates Oh, yeah, no resemblance there, at all. Terrible casting. What were they thinking?
English

@doulbedoink When you say "my ethnic culture loves family and food!" and they give you the Nordic stare
