@bennyjohnson He's desperate. This isn't going to end well. I fear the only way out is if Trump is impeached, removed from office, and Vance steps in and tries to negotiate with Iran. This ends badly if the Yuan becomes the new petro-dollar.

I don't think most people understand the wider implications that could emerge from this war. The death of the US Petro-dollar. If the Yuan takes over as the main currency for the petro-economy, the US dollar collapses. Iran doesn't need to keep firing missiles, it just keeps that toll booth at the Strait of Hormuz accepting only Yuan and we are in big trouble. If the US dollar loses its place as the world's reserve currency, 1928 will look like a tiny blip on the radar by comparison to the economic turmoil we'd be in for. And Trump gets to emerge as the asshole who wrecked the whole party.

I don't think so. I know a lot of guys who worked at division and corps level, and a lot of the sand table discussions during GWOT didn't factor in a ground incursion into Iran because it was so terrain limited. Syria, Lebanon, even a hostile takeover of Egypt by extreme islamists were considered.

@LibertyLockPod it’s my assumption that the Military has been working this over for the better part of two decades. “what if israel goes rogue and we get dragged in” isn’t particularly far outside of the realm of possibility. but i also think this isn’t JUST about Israel.

Iran is 100% militarily degraded but they are lighting Israel up like a Christmas tree. I'm starting to think that maybe Trump doesn't have a fkn clue what he's doing.

It's usually a sign someone is not a very good person if they speak poorly of the recently deceased. You know, presidents are kind of expected to act with at least some level of decorum. I care because I'm an American, and I kind of don't want my president to act like a piece of shit.

@EWErickson You need to know the difference between capability and intent. Iran may have had the intent to kill us, or maybe not, but they certainly lacked the capability. Just like an angry vole- it may intend to harm me, but it doesn't possess the capability.

Given the growing antisemitism in this country, it is now or never to finish off Iran. We'll never get the chance again. Too many people will really believe it's for the Jews instead of stopping a really evil regime that wants to kill us all. We cannot give up this fight.
