UAE condemns in the strongest terms the acts of vandalism and the attack on its embassy in Syria. What on earth is the Islamic gov in Syria trying to prove by allowing these attacks to take place? Absolutely shameful..though not surprising. And the EU, as usual, falls silent when Islamists are involved.

@AlexCrawfordSky Dear Alex, you really seem to have very little grasp of international law. As @BrianCox_RLTW rightfully notes, soon as ‘journalists’ take active part in hostilities, they lose their protected status and become legitimate targets. This is not opinion. It’s int’l law 101.

This is such a ridiculous point. If we operated off this ideology, then no war could ever be fought, because our adversaries would start using children as shields as a deterrence mechanism. Not going to war because of kids only incentivizes further weaponization of kids!
Tommy Vietor@TVietor08

@Timodc Meanwhile, Netanyahu authorizes wars that actually kill children, but never mind that inconvenient fact…

I just had a great conversation with @POTUS. I totally support his ultimatum to the Iranian regime to open up the Strait of Hormuz and to do a peace deal. A massive military operation awaits Iran if they choose poorly. This regime has been severely crippled through Operation Epic Fury. Their reign of terror against the region and the world needs to come to an end, hopefully through a peace deal. After speaking with President Trump this morning, I am completely convinced that he will use overwhelming military force against the regime if they continue to impede the Strait of Hormuz and refuse a diplomatic solution to achieve our military objectives. If it’s not clear to Iran and others by now that President Trump means what he says then I don’t know when it will ever be. Choose wisely.

97k likes… This is a video of Palestinians attacking other Palestinians in Hebron. There are no Israelis there. The PA even arrested the perpetrators. If Israel was everything they claim, why do they spend every day posting obvious lies about it?
Daniel Lambert@dlLambo

"Israel wants to live in peace with its neighbours" is the biggest lie of all time. This is the West Bank. No Hamas, no war, yet attacked like this daily by "settlers" backed by the IDF. A savagely violent Jewish supremacy armed by the EU/UK/US

Jesus would say: “I am a Jew from Judea, born in Bethlehem of the house of David, raised in Nazareth of Galilee. I was sent to the lost sheep of Israel.” The land wasn’t called Palestine until Romans renamed Judea in 135 CE—over a century after his death—to punish Jewish revolts and erase its Jewish character. No one in his time used “Palestinian” as an identity.

The account's claims align closely with historical records. Arabs' major presence in the Levant dates to the 7th-century Muslim conquests (with some pre-Islamic Arab tribes like the Ghassanids present earlier). The modern "Palestinian" national identity for Arabs emerged prominently post-1967 as a political response, amplified by Soviet-backed propaganda—PLO formed in 1964 but gained traction after defeat. Pre-1948, "Palestinian" typically meant Jews in the Mandate era (e.g., Palestine Post until 1950; Palestine Symphony Orchestra, all-Jewish, until 1948). Romans renamed Judea "Syria Palaestina" in 135 CE post-Bar Kokhba revolt to erase Jewish ties. "Palestinian" denotes a national identity, not ethnicity (Arabs are the ethnic group); Gaza/West Bank populations include local descendants plus 19th-20th century migrants from Egypt, Syria, and elsewhere.

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou pled guilty to repeatedly and unlawfully leaking the identities and classified operational roles of covert CIA officers to journalists. The leaked identities reached the defense teams of terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay, who used them to secretly photograph a covert CIA officer and show those photographs to high-value terrorist detainees. Seized emails later revealed he had disclosed information on dozens of CIA officers — far beyond what he was formally charged with. He was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison. Following his release, Kiriakou worked for Radio Sputnik and contributed to RT, both of which are part of the Russian state media apparatus. None of this matters to @MarioNawfal, of course, because it would interfere with his agenda of platforming anti-Israel and anti-American propaganda.

Sorry Jonah. I actually sat in the room for the first half of the movie. For 24 polite years, Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama diplomatically asked NATO members to increase defense spending. For 24 years, it was one excuse after another, all focused in Western Europe on how they wish they could spend more, but their social welfare spending priorities wouldn’t let them. In other words, you the US will spend on defense and protect us. Along comes rude Donald Trump. Finally, someone made clear that if Europe kept freeloading the US was done. It took a bill in the China shop to move Europe. Diplomacy failed. Trump prevailed. That’s reality whether you or I like it. NATO self-withered after 75 years. If Spain, England, Italy and France won’t spend what’s necessary to have a real military, it’s time for something new.

Was Iran acting with restraint when it sent death squads to Syria to help Bashar al-Assad murder 500,000+ people? Was Iran acting with restraint when it threw its back into propping up Hezbollah and terrorizing Lebanon? Houthis in Yemen? Terror militias in Iraq?
Matt Duss@mattduss

Over the past few years, Iran has acted with far more restraint than either the US or Israel. What you see in Iran’s actions now indicates that the regime realizes that was a mistake.
