OPERATION HADIN KAI DEBUNKS FALSE CLAIMS ON BENISHEIKH INCIDENT, REAFFIRMS PROFESSIONALISM AND OPERATIONAL SUPERIORITY The Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has noted with serious concern the circulation of false, misleading and highly exaggerated reports across some television stations and social media platforms following the recent foiled terrorist attack on troops’ location in Benisheikh. These narratives, often amplified with unrelated pictures and videos, are not only inaccurate but constitute a deliberate attempt to distort facts, undermine ongoing military operations and erode public confidence. OPHK categorically refutes the claim that 17 soldiers, including a Brigade Commander, lost their lives during the incident. The official and verified report, as earlier released through Defence Headquarters, clearly stated that 2 officers and 2 soldiers paid the supreme price in the course of the engagement. Any contrary figure being circulated is entirely false, misleading, and devoid of credibility. The insinuation that the Brigade Commander’s vehicle was unserviceable is equally incorrect. The Commander was mounted on a high-grade Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, which was temporarily immobilised in the heat of combat while he was actively coordinating the counter-assault. This reflects the intensity of the engagement and the presence of leadership at the decisive point, not any equipment failure. Furthermore, the pictures and videos being circulated in connection with the incident are unrelated to the Benisheikh attack and are being deliberately misrepresented to reinforce false narratives. The public is urged to disregard such content, which is clearly intended to misinform and create unnecessary panic. The Nigerian military strongly frowns at the distortion of operational facts and the use of such unfortunate incident for personal/political gains or propaganda. Such actions not only mislead the public but also diminish the sacrifices, courage, and professionalism of officers and men who continue to risk their lives daily in the defence of the nation. The Armed Forces of Nigeria remains professional and committed solely to their constitutional mandate. It is pertinent to reiterate that troops of Operation HADIN KAI successfully repelled the attack, maintained control of their location, and forced the terrorists into a disorganised retreat. The failed assault underscores the sustained pressure on terrorist elements and the growing combat effectiveness of troops across the Theatre. The military remains the only credible source of verified information on its operations and will continue to provide timely and accurate updates through official channels. Members of the public are therefore advised to rely on such sources and refrain from spreading unverified information. This is one of the reasons why it is important to quickly alert the police when in distress. Two ladies were kidnapped and a ransom of #5000,000 was collected. Acting on available information, operatives of Delta State Anti kidnapping Unit trailed the suspect and after ensuring the victims are safe, swooped in on them, and engaged them a gun duel, three of the suspected kidnappers died as a result of the gun shot injuries sustained, one AK-47 rifle and the ransom money recovered. CP Yemi Oyenisi personally handed the money to the victims.

Nigerian Bar Association
Nigerian Bar Association@NigBarAssoc·
OUR LAWS AND DEMOCRACY MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL TIMES The Nigerian Bar Association has closely monitored recent political and legal developments as the nation gradually approaches the 2027 General Elections. These developments, particularly those arising from the interpretation and potential application of provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, raise serious constitutional, democratic, and rule-of-law concerns that require immediate intervention. We particularly deprecate the disturbing involvement by lawyers and courts in the internal affairs of political parties despite the clear provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026, which stipulates in Section 83 of the Act that “No court in Nigeria shall entertain jurisdiction over any suit or matter pertaining to the internal affairs of a political party.” Not only are courts denied jurisdiction to entertain any matter pertaining to the internal affairs of a political party, but they are also precluded from granting any interim or interlocutory injunction even where any action has been brought in violation of the Act. The section further provides that “Where such an action is brought in negation of this provision, no interim or interlocutory injunction shall be entertained by the Court, but the Court shall suspend its ruling and deliver it at the stage of final judgment and shall give accelerated hearing to the matter”. What we now see are situations where actions are not only instituted in Courts by lawyers in clear violation of the Act, but Courts purportedly grant interim and/or interlocutory injunctions in clear contempt of statutory provisions of the law. This does not augur well for our democracy. Democracy will not thrive in a situation where lawyers and courts take actions and decisions that not only negate our laws but also do violence to them. This emerging trend of subverting the clear letters of the Electoral Act and dragging courts into the internal affairs of political parties through disingenuous litigation, forum shopping, and malafide applications designed to secure undemocratic political advantage, bodes no good for our democracy. Such practices, if not immediately curbed, would directly contradict the clear intendment of the Electoral Act and risk transforming the judicial processes into avenues for political score-settling or electoral manipulation. We must reiterate that these provisions were clearly designed to curb abuse of court processes and discourage forum shopping in political disputes. This is therefore why the NBA is concerned that the abuse, misapplication, or selective deployment of these provisions may create opportunities for manipulation capable of undermining democratic competition and shrinking the political space. Members of the Bar are reminded that they are Ministers in the Temple of Justice and not political agents seeking judicial endorsement of partisan objectives. The filing of actions intended to draw courts into internal political party disputes, particularly where jurisdiction is expressly excluded, constitutes an abuse of court process and a violation of professional responsibility. The NBA will take firm steps to deter such conduct. Lawyers who deliberately file actions aimed at procuring judicial interference in intra-party affairs, or who seek ex parte or interlocutory orders in clear violation of statutory provisions, risk facing disciplinary proceedings. We will not hesitate to present petitions before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) against any Legal Practitioner found to be engaging in such conduct. This will be pursued decisively to serve as a deterrent and to preserve the sanctity of the judicial process. The Nigerian judiciary must stay vigilant and resist being drawn into political theatrics. Courts should firmly decline invitations, no matter how artfully crafted, to intervene in matters the law explicitly bars them from.

@Greentbees @Chude_ND1 @CleverNation23 I know say U no too get sense normally but this is getting out of hand. He made a perfectly simple observation so understanding it shouldn't be so difficult if you weren't foolish already. If the road is getting rerouted to easier terrains, then it should cost a lot less. Simple

This is just a trik to divert the route to the hinterland of the Niger Delta, where the terrain is less challenging. This is why they never made the blueprint of this Coastal road project public. I wish my suspended account is here… I was drumming it every day that Nigeria is not ripe enough to build over 150 bridges in those difficult terrains and desolated creeks of the Niger Delta.. Nobody in his right sense will waste that amount of money in those areas, at least not 20 years from now. If the coastal road near any of the estuaries of the niger delta… I'll give them 10/10. Quote me anywhere. I also hope the budgeted cost of the project will also reduce now that the road has been rerouted to a far less difficult terrain?

FG reroutes Lagos-Calabar coastal highway through Ogoniland to honour late Mpigi The federal government has approved the rerouting of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to pass through Ogoniland in honour of the late Senator Mpigi Barinada Barry. Speaking at a Night of Tribute in Abuja yesterday, Umahi described Mprigi’s death as a profound loss to the nation and recalled his unwavering commitment to national development, integrity, and bridge-building in the Senate. vanguardngr.com/2026/04/fg-rer…

Brahh! Do you know if these were chess game for don finish. You cannot claim to be strong while you lose your leaders in the first day of war. Nigeria would have done better Imagine comparing military hardware to actual humans who are supposed leaders of a supposed strong country. And damn you still can’t even smell the US shores/waters A country that cannot protect its leaders cannot protect its citizens and it’s all indications they are weak asf. Again only Russia stand a chance against US. (And these boils down to experience and intelligence). People like you cannot command an army. You go dae use sentiments go fight war. 😂😂
