Depuis sa colonisation en 1853, la terre Kanaky constitue un territoire colonial français. Il n'a jamais été décolonisé par la 🇨🇵malgré les luttes kanaks qui n'ont jamais cessé. Kanaky « Nouvelle Calédonie » est depuis 1986 sur la liste des 17 territoires à décoloniser par l'ONU.
