@meFossa @VileFate Being satirical doesn't help a conversation. Nor does making assumptions about what I think. Ofc guns, gear and mats are loot. But its dumb to say "I picked this up so its loot". As ive said before, Cryo Archive is 'raid like' and can easily be comparable to a Cod EE

I just cant believe the "raid-like" mechanics in Marathon that Bungie teased ending up being "interact with 3 monitors with the same symbol". I knew that marketing Cryo as a "raid-like" thing was a bait (it wouldnt work in this genre) but I still expected something more than that

@meFossa @VileFate Some by killing boss', some by finding them in rooms, some by using a keycard to get a code. In Zombies I dont say "I looted the summoning key" for my EE step

@HistoryWaffle @warlock248 @VileFate Winning a race doesn't make your definition the end all. If the creators state they're 'raid like' and they certainly are raid like, then thats it. Not to downplay winning such things as they are massive feats of accomplishment.

@DecimatorDrew @VileFate Yes its cherry picking but they never stated that the CA mechanics would rival raiding, just 'raid-like' mechanics, which I'd argue we do see, granted having to blend losing gear and PvP I'd argue CA is harder then a large majority of Exotic Missions, not speaking on quality.

I mean Vault was created 12 years ago and RoN was a result of people getting their nuts kicked in by Vow of the Disciple. I get what you’re saying but you’re kind of just cherry picking the three most unimpressive raids out of 11 going back to D1. When I hear “Raid like mechanics” I think VoW, SE, DP, etc.

@meFossa @VileFate A battery, security card, and coolant arent loot cause its a core part of the map, same as the outpost Keycards. They only serve the purpose of being used as mechanical items, no exfilling them, selling, ext.

@ImMrSpaceman @VileFate Right. In the same way guns aren’t loot because you need them to fight. Or mats aren’t loot because you need them for upgrades. So what makes them not loot again?

@DecimatorDrew @VileFate I'd argue the mechanics are 2x what RoN or Vog are, hell, WotM. All of these have very surface level mechanics, which, took longer to do all vaults and boss then these raids clears

@ImMrSpaceman @VileFate It’s not bad but it’s also not “raid level” mechanics. Or hell, even some dungeon level mechanics. It’s like saying the exotic mission for the Praxic Blade is the same as Salvations Edge. lol. Just call it what it is and not raid level.

@Lucky_N00dle @VileFate Every single item i listed and more are needed to open up vaults in marathon, each being done in different ways. Antumbra, pentumbra, operator, scanner, Relic, ext are all 'buzzwords' for things in various raids.

@DecimatorDrew @VileFate 70% of d2 exotic missions are stand on thing or shoot thing, let alone in destiny you are not nearly as threatened as in marathon. 1: is it bad if they are around exotic mission mechanic difficulty? 2: Can *you* explain to me how to do V6 and V7 if they're that simple?

@MayorReynoldsTV @MarathonTheGame (Can't play ranked, but fully understand how it works) Cryo archive every day, being able to load in and have straight avenues to loot I'd amazing, with a nice amount of depth

Now that both Cryo Archive and Ranked are available in @MarathonTheGame, which activity do you like better and why?

@VileFate I agree they aren't super in depth but they certainly aren't a nothing burger worth of stuff. If I had to compare them to anything it'd be Cod Zombies EE level of stuff.

@ImMrSpaceman These aren't raid mechanics, its a glorified scavenger hunt that requires little to no thought from the players. "Raid-like mechanics" implies some sort of execution in tandem between players to achieve some task at hand. I wouldn't classify gathering items on the map as that.

Every day I’m more and more tempted to buy Marathon.

@luongas @MintBlitz Snazzy and our team got hard locked by the simple fact that we didnt get a Key from Cryo 06, the rarest item in the game, let alone the hardest of keyboard vaults. If you do a vault, you should get the ability to progress farther

@luongas @MintBlitz The keys that let you open the vaults are random, everything about opening the doors are random, from security clearance, encounters, symbols, ect. Hell, one of the doors literally has the rarest rng item in the game tied to it. To do everything and be cut short is bad imo If
