The razor-thin win for Democrats in Virginia is now reshaping the political map in a BIG way.
The redistricting plan — blasted as a "power grab" by critics — is expected to boost Democrats by 4 House seats, while significantly shrinking Republican representation into just ONE district.
Democrats say they’re putting a check on President Trump’s power with the vote — Republicans say it’s proof that Virginia has lost its way.
Eyes are now on Florida, where pressure is mounting on Gov. DeSantis to move on a redistricting effort in his state.

@juliannewhite59 @FoxNews I'm a Virginian, and not if we can help it. Three words for you regarding that razor thin win for Democrats..(51-49)
3 words..
Virginia Supreme Court
English

@BarackObama Democracy? 10 Democratic seats to 1 GOP? You have no idea what democracy is about. FYI Virginia Supreme Court will have the last day
English

@zigster01 @ReElectWittman And we are to believe you, why? Our own governor said she wasn't going to redistrict, believing her is a huge mistake, unfortunately Democrat Democrats LIE
FYI: even if it passes, Virginia Supreme Court will have the final answer
English

@ReElectWittman Massive democratic turnout. Exit polls show leaning to the YES vote.

“Stop grumbling. Start living openly, unashamedly for Jesus Christ. He’s called you for such a time as this.” Amen! This is a great reminder from Pastor Stuart Olyott and @christianorguk.

@brockandashton @CBS6 It's all bait and switch. They're not gonna change it back they just want citizens to believe it.
I voted NO ..our rural friends Southwest Virginia would have zero voice, zero representation if it passes
English

@CBS6 It’s an absolute scam. The way the question is worded and the drastic “temporary” change is just idiotic. What’s the point of changing it if you’re planning to change it back
English

Virginia voters will decide whether to ratify a mid-decade redrawing of U.S. House districts that could boost Democrats’ chances of flipping control of the closely divided chamber. wtvr.com/news/local-new…

@HQNewsNow 5 dem seats to 4 GOP is fair..
Don't talk to me about what's fair and what's not. 10 dem seats to 1 GOP??? is a total cheat.
Voting a big fat no tomorrow!!

Candace Cameron Bure urges Americans to turn to God and find a "life worth living" as she prepares to join hundreds, including President Trump, in jointly reading the Bible aloud cover-to-cover this week.
"There's just a whole other life worth living for in a way that is God-honoring," she says.

@SpanbergerForVA This governor will go down in history as the worst and most detrimental in history of this great Commonwealth.
Now is the time people, even our moderate democrat friends could not be happy.. she's lied, she's a puppet to other extreme liberals, everyone please..
VOTE NO
English

I already voted YES on Virginia's redistricting referendum.
It's temporary. It's responsive. And now it's in your hands.
Election Day is Tuesday. Make a plan to vote at IWillVote.com/VA.
English

@TriaPapaPia @SpanbergerForVA For the first time in a long time I keep hearing people say they're going to vote NO on the 21st, so I still have hope!
English

@SpanbergerForVA It will likely succeed, but your political career beyond the governorship is dead.

@SpanbergerForVA It’s not temporary, and robbing your constituents of fair congressional representation is treasonous.
VOTE NO, REJECT FASCISTS!

Temporary? From what I know, there’s almost nothing in either the U.S. or Virginia Constitution that just expires on its own. Amendments tend to be permanent unless repealed. I haven’t been able to find a single example in Virginia of an amendment designed to automatically expire after a set time. Am I missing something there?
I am also wondering how the “temporary” piece would actually work in practice. If new districts lead to new members of Congress, how likely is it that they would simply give up their seats in four years?
And with the census timing, wouldn’t these districts potentially be used for multiple elections (2026, 2028, 2030), with any new maps not taking effect until 2032?
English

@mikedlong5150 @SpanbergerForVA I know it's so frustrating!
But here's the hope... I hear more and more young people and others say they're going to the polls to vote now on the 21st🙏
We need all conservatives ..all to come out and vote no 21st
English

@SpanbergerForVA Of course you did. It’s 6 years and three elections cycles of removing representation from 47% of Virginians.
This is your defense in saving democracy? Doing the most undemocratic thing possible and silencing 47% of your state’s electorate?
We’re doomed
English

@SpanbergerForVA Stop trying to fool everyone by saying it's "fair and temporary".. We fix this issue of gerrymandering in 2020, and now against what you said you would do, you trying to take us back to power grab days. Shame on you.
