16 years ago, Republicans gerrymandered Virginia, taking 8 out of 11 seats in the House of Representatives. Tomorrow, Virginia voters will have the chance to combat Trump's gerrymandering efforts by voting YES on the referendum.

At the polls in Fairfax, someone asked the DEMS for a map of the redistricting and they said that they don’t have a map. Then he came over to the Republican tent and we gave him this map. Then, he told the DEMS, this is why you don’t have a redistricting map. I am voting NO!

Temporary? From what I know, there’s almost nothing in either the U.S. or Virginia Constitution that just expires on its own. Amendments tend to be permanent unless repealed. I haven’t been able to find a single example in Virginia of an amendment designed to automatically expire after a set time. Am I missing something there? I am also wondering how the “temporary” piece would actually work in practice. If new districts lead to new members of Congress, how likely is it that they would simply give up their seats in four years? And with the census timing, wouldn’t these districts potentially be used for multiple elections (2026, 2028, 2030), with any new maps not taking effect until 2032?
