@InterFanNL @libpol_org Don’t mind at all, and yep, it’s definitely a modern thing to be brief in writing, which is due to a lot of changes in the overall entertainment landscape. And the changes caused books to shift and alter to keep up with their visual counterparts

@InterFanNL @libpol_org The best exercises is to start transcribing scenes from shows, comics, or movies, and showing your script to someone who’s never seen it, and check how close of a mental image they got to the actual events by showing them the scene

@libpol_org No, probably not, these people are trying to sound like philosophers instead of… you guessed it, actual writers. Substitutes need to be brief, and indicative of character which, no one seems to want to do, (Unless they’re intentionally writing pretentious stuck up assholes)

I am outraged by the despicable, cowardly attacks against Muslim New Yorkers in Bay Ridge last week—one of which was on a 12-year-old girl. This violence is unacceptable, and we know that all too often visibly Muslim, hijab-wearing women and girls bear the brunt of it.
Muslim New Yorkers deserve to live with safety and dignity, and to be able to walk our streets free from harassment, threats, or harm. Islamophobia has no place in our city, and violence or intimidation against Muslim New Yorkers is unacceptable.
