Yesterday we received our fanciest and most capable robot yet: the @GalbotRobotics G1 It's already designed for retail, and now we'll add scalability by connecting it to the real world web and @CactusXR. One of our most exciting robotics partnerships by far! ๐Ÿฆพ

My conversation with Sergey Levine (@svlevine). Sergey is the co-founder of @physical_int -- a company building foundation models that can control any robot to do any task in any environment. The company's thesis is that generality is more scalable than specialization, meaning that a model trained across many different robots and tasks will ultimately outperform any system built to do one thing well (eg, just wash dishes). Sergey is a researcher by background, but I think you will appreciate how practical and commercially grounded this conversation is. We discuss: - Why changing a diaper will be the last task a robot masters - The simulation v. real-world data debate - How multimodal LLMs give robots common sense - Moravec's Paradox + Robot Olympics - Why robots can do long-horizon tasks now - A realistic timeline for robots in our homes I should note that I am an investor in Physical Intelligence -- I made the investment because I believe it is one of the most important companies tackling the problem of robotics. Today, the 10,000th AGIBOT humanoid robot officially rolled off the line. This isn't just a production milestone; itโ€™s the moment humanoid robots transition from technical validation to global, large-scale deployment. The most exciting part? Our velocity. 0 to 1,000: 2 years 1,000 to 5,000: 1 year 5,000 to 10,000: Just 3 months Weโ€™ve accelerated production efficiency by 4x, proving that humanoids aren't just a future conceptโ€”they are ready for the workforce today. From logistics to industrial manufacturing, AGIBOT is now scaling at the speed of global demand. #AGIBOT #HumanoidRobots #EmbodiedAI #MassProduction #HumanoidNo1 #HumanoidShipmentsNo1 #SmartManufacturing

and now a new layer is emerging -physical AI infrastructure (robotics, drones, geospatial localization, machine networks) this is where crypto leaves the internet and starts powering the real world. machines coordinating, navigating, and transacting autonomously from data โ†’ to decisions โ†’ to physical action
mert@mert

crypto now has several distinct branches - commercial (RWAs, institutional rails) - cypherpunk (privacy, internet-native SoVs) - consumer (neobanks, stables, yield, some trading) - casino (PvP games, betting) - coordination (DePIN, AI, futarchy)

Xiaomiโ€™s new CyberOne just leakedโ€ฆ and the hand is wild. ๐Ÿค– A full-palm tactile bionic hand that actually feels like a human hand. This might be what finally puts humanoids to work in factories.
RoboHub๐Ÿค–@XRoboHub

The all-new Xiaomi CyberOne breaks cover, featuring a full-palm tactile bionic hand. ๐Ÿค–โœจ Xiaomi Technology's official WeChat account just dropped a massive update, detailing their research into full-palm tactile bionic hands and revealing a total redesign for the CyberOne humanoid. They have slashed the hand's volume by 60% to achieve a perfect 1:1 human scale, matching the dimensions of a 1.73-meter male hand to simplify sim-to-real data mapping. The new configuration boosts active degrees of freedom by 83%, pushing the dexterity closer to the human standard of 22-27 DOFs for complex manipulation. To tackle the 30W of heat loss from high-density 100W motors, Xiaomi integrated 3D-printed metal liquid cooling channels that function as bionic sweat glands. This system evaporates 0.5mL of water per minute, providing 10W of active cooling to prevent thermal throttling during high-load industrial shifts. Tactile sensing covers a massive 8200 sq mm, providing full-palm feedback that allows the robot to "feel" its way through tasks when vision is obstructed. Reliability is a standout, with the hardware enduring over 150,000 grasping cycles, far surpassing the 10,000-cycle failure threshold common in many tendon-driven designs. In automotive assembly tests, CyberOne already maintains a 90.2% success rate for nut-fastening tasks within a strict 76-second factory cycle over 3 hours of operation. By using tactile gloves for direct data collection, theyโ€™ve open-sourced the TacRefineNet framework and 61 hours of raw data to accelerate embodied AI development globally. Full-palm tactile sensing paired with active liquid cooling might be the missing link for putting humanoids into 24/7 heavy industrial roles. What's your take on "sweating" robots as the solution to motor overheating in high-dexterity hands? Would love your thoughts @chris_j_paxton @Scobleizer @GoingBallistic5 @TheHumanoidHub

Great take below. This is why robotics timelines always humble people lol. The internet lets you fake progress with one great clip. The real world forces you to earn it a thousand times in a row.

The Bitter Lesson of Robotics: It's extremely easy to make a video of a robot doing something once under perfect conditions then post it to X. But it often takes a decade to harden systems and design for all the insane edge cases of the real world. Many companies raising $$$$ on cool demos, but all the hard work comes after

True AGI is when the robot finally has enough of the annoying testing and just walks off the job. Marc Benioff shared a new video of Figure 03 autonomously sorting deformable packages and placing them labels-down for the scanner down the line.
