@keeperoftheroad @LavenderGhast We already have the games if we want those stories. I would rather want something new and original not something that’s already been done previously and try to live up to expectations. This is simply my opinion, not talking for the entire RE community.

For example, if I made a Resident Evil movie I would base it on the bizarre murders in the Arklay Mountains following a group of hikers having to survive the night. All new characters and story set within the world before the events of the games. There’s nothing wrong with originality

Same here! Sadly, unless it’s made by fans I don’t think we will ever get a faithful adaptation, plus we already have the games for that. As much as I want one, an original story and cast of characters that follow the core themes/elements of RE along with the lore like RE 7, is the best way to go in my opinion

They made RESIDENT EVIL 7 about a brand new character who's face we dont even see, set in Louisiana and no Umbrella Corporation. A lot of fans see it as the scariest and one of the best installments of the franchise so can't we just look at Zach Cregger's film in that way? 🤷♂️

Most of this can literally be said for Resident Evil 7 lmao I really do not give a fuck when we finally have a good writer/director behind one of these who actually excels in the areas RE is known for (horror and comedy)

I read the script and there’s nothing from the games no characters, enemies, viruses, or lore. Just one random Umbrella scientist so they can have a reason to call it Resident Evil
