@griffingulledge I hear you. I donโt have enough characters to include everything he said, so I made sure the video covered it for full transparency. Whatโs the goal of saying โthere is no danger of that position not being represented hereโ? Whatever his intent, I think it gives false assurance.

Discussing the issue of women as pastors in the SBC on In the Library with @pastorclint. The SBC cannot afford to be unclear about our theological convictions and the ground of our cooperation. We must make this issue clear. Link to our full conversation: ow.ly/or1g50YK81R

The logical force of Adrian Rogersโ argument seems to depend on a โsenior pastorโ understanding. Rogers claimed the revision would affect 50-70 churches, "less than 1/10 of 1 percent" of SBC churches baptistpress.com/resource-libraโฆ

Any mother of boys has seen the preference for girls among elementary school teachers.

Itโs probably time to rehash this for SBC twitter. When the BFM2000 was adopted the committee was clear on two things: 1. The BFM2000 would not be binding on local churches 2. The โpastorโ clause referred specifically to the role of โsenior pastorโ 1/ twitter.com/_JayAdkins/staโฆ

I hear from so many women who have similar stories. Ppart of why these days I have zero interest in arguments re: male-only leadership. Guys, you don't have male-only leadership. You have paid male leaders w/formal titles & unpaid/unofficial female leaders. 1/3

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was hanged by the Nazis on April 9, 1945 at the Flossenbรผrg concentration camp. A camp doctor who was there gave this eyewitness account: โOn the morning of that day between five and six oโclock the prisoners, including Admiral Canaris, General Oster and state attorney Dr. Sack were taken from their cells and the verdicts of the court martial read out to them. Through the half-open door in one room of the huts, I saw Pastor Bonhoeffer, before taking off his prison garb, kneeling on the floor praying fervently to his God. I was most deeply moved by the way this lovable man prayed, so devout and so certain that God heard his prayer. At the place of execution, he again said a short prayer, and then climbed the steps to the gallows, brave and composed. His death ensued after a few seconds. In the almost fifty years that I worked as a doctor, I have hardly ever seen a man die so entirely submissive to the will of God.โ Bonhoeffer's last recorded words: "This is the endโfor me the beginning of life."
