I respect these people, but I dislike that the only figures we truly venerate tend to be uncontroversial people who impress international audiences.
Who is our national heroes, like a Theodore Roosevelt or Joan of Arc?

One thing I love about Canada is the heroes we venerate: - Chris Hadfield - Terry Fox - Harriet Tubman (who led American slaves to freedom in Canada)

Any conservative who doesn't see the subtle but strong charisma Carney has is deluded. Natural ease around people without forced cheer and fake friendliness. Just seems to naturally like the energy of a crowd. He is very hard to beat
